Blackpool Rangers Vs Warton Typhoons (1st match) 24.April.2010
Team: Danny, Tom, Jacob M, Adam B, Jack, Jacob M, Jacob C.
Subs: Liam.
On a fine morning the game kicked off and from the start both Rangers and
Warton appeared to be well up for a good tussle. Both teams attacked and
countered in roughly equal proportions and it soon became apparent that any
goals scored in this match today were going to be hard earned.
As the first half continued Rangers seemed to be making some headway into
the Warton defences although at a very gradual pace. Eventually Jacob(The
wotsit)Cheeseman made a great run up the left wing until he was within range
of the Warton goal. Jacob made no mistake and let go a great shot with his
left foot. The ball sailed into the back of the Warton net with some power
to open up Rangers account and put them into a one- nil lead. Rangers 1 -
Warton 0.
The game kicked off again and play continued in much the same manner with
not much between the two teams, it was going to be a close thing today.
Suddenly Warton made attack on the Rangers goal, the ball was soon well up
the field and with a well struck shot the ball was in the back of the net,
Rangers 1 - Warton 1.
Rangers kicked off again and play continued up to the first half whistle
with no further goals scored. With an equal score card at this stage the
game was still anybodies.
The second half kicked off and the battle continued and the game was still
there to be won. Rangers started to find a new impetus and were putting
together some good attacking moves upon the Warton goal when Liam made a
great and accurate cross from the right hand midfield to a ready and waiting
Danny(The big D)Carr who made good use of the pass from Liam as he slotted
the ball into the back of the Warton goal to bring Rangers back into the
lead for the second time in the game. Rangers 2 - Warton 1.
With goals coming very slowly today, all Rangers had to do was to maintain
their lead to claim the victory and that is just what they did. As the final
whistle sounded to end the game the score was still Rangers 2 - Warton 1 !
All in all a very hard, evenly matched game today but never the less another
welcome victory for Rangers. Well done to all the team and keep up the good
work - it pays off !
Final score: Rangers 2 - Warton 1.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Warton Typhoons (2nd Match) 24.April.2010
Team: Matt, Johnny, Lee, Adam T, Rob, Leon, Will.
Subs: Ed, Spencer, Ben S.
After the hard earned victory against Warton in the first match of the
morning Rangers spectators and players were all eager to see if Rangers
could achieve a similar result in the second match. The game kicked off and
once again it became very apparent, quite quickly that this game was going
to be another war of attrition. Both teams battled hard and neither side was
prepared to give an inch.
Both teams attacked and defended as and when required and the dead lock
continued right up to the half time whistle with no goals scored by either
team. Despite the lack of goals the game was a pleasure to watch with some
great effort showed by both sides.
The second half kicked off and both sides got stuck in straight again as in
the first half. At this stage many spectators were guessing that the game
was going to end in a draw. Fortunately for Rangers this was not going to be
the case. Well into the second half the ball came through the air across the
front of the Warton goal, Big Ben Smith was nicely placed front of goal and
he managed to get his head to the ball and knocked the ball into the Warton
net with what can only be described as a 'cheeky' little header. As goals
were so few and far between today it was a very welcome point which could
prove to be pivotal in the result of the match, Rangers 1 - Warton 0.
The game kicked off again and despite both teams continuing to battle hard
for the remainder of the match, Rangers managed to maintain their one - nil
lead until the final whistle blew and it was a great relief when the end of
the match came as the cheers from the Rangers supporters clearly indicated.
Well done boys, another hard fought and well earned win to end the season
on. You stuck to the task and it paid off, keep it up !
Final score Rangers 1 - Warton 0.

Staining Juniors v Blackpool Rangers 19th April 2010
1st match
Team: Robert, Mathew, Lee, Leon , Johnny, Adam & Will
Subs: Edward, Sam
We had done are sums before the game and new that just one point would secure our promotion to the top league. We couldn’t have asked for a better start with Will ‘The Whizz’ Brown running at the Staining defence within the first minute. This pressure told quite quickly with Will slotting the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 Rangers. From the re start we soon regained possession, Will yet again giving the Staining lads a torrid time. He beat several players running through the heart of the Staining defence and then side footed an accurate shot just inside the post to give us a 2-0 lead after only 5 minutes!!
Rangers at this stage looked the dominant force on the pitch, creating several chances to increase the lead. However to Staining’s credit they soon got into their stride and after the shock of the early goals started to get a good amount of possession, both teams creating chances and playing some good football. Easier said than as the grass on the pitch was very long, making it difficult to string passes together.
The first half drew to a close with the score remaining at 2-0 Rangers. In the second half changes were made with Edward coming into defence and Sam into the midfield, the game continued much in the same vein as the 1st, both teams having equal amounts of possession and creating similar efforts on goal, this largely down to some excellent defending from both sides. As the minutes ticked down it was clear to see the excitement on the players and supporters a like, we new we were edging closer to our goal: Promotion to the top league and as the final whistle went with the score remaining at 2-0 to us, it was job done and time to celebrate!!!!
I could not be prouder of all the players, it has been a magnificent effort from every player this season . We have a good squad and feel we are more than capable of making a good account of ourselves next season.
Thank you to all the parents and supporters who come down what ever the weather to support the boys.
Thank you also to the 4 great coaches, who help me with the team. Its very much a team effort and without them we would not have achieved what we have this season.
2nd Match
Team: Jakob H, Adam B, Jack, Thomas, Jacob C, Jacob M, Danny
Subs: Ben, Spencer
When the teams were selected the fit again George was back in goal, however in the warm up his wrist injury flared up again. In stepped Jacob H, who is a very capapable replacement, boy he did a fine job, making several crucial saves.
Staining looked strong and powerful, particuly in the centre of midfield and had a good share of the possession. Luckily for us we have our very own power house in midfield with Thomas who yet again commanded the middle of the pitch, linking the play up well between the defence and Danny up front.
With the honours even for the opening 10 minutes, Jacob Mullin went on a great run down the right hand side beating a couple of players with his turn of pace. Jacob whipped in a wonderful cross which found Cheesey at the far post. He was cool as ice as he took a touch to control the ball and then smashed it low and hard across the front of the keeper into the far corner to make it 1-0 Rangers. It was a lesson to the whole team on how to finish Great stuff. The first half continued with both teams having chances. Half time score 1-0.
In the second half Spencer and Ben Smith came on, both players running their socks off for the team. I have said all year if you put the opposition under pressure and close them down then chances will come. This advice worked as we started to create several good chances by chasing lost causes. We worked hard down the right hand side and crossed a ball in to the eager Spencer, he smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range to give us a 2-0 advantage and take a little bit of pressure off the team.
We continued to battle hard but no further goals were score. Rangers coming out with a slender but well deserved 2-0 victory. Well played.
Star Player: Spencer ( Worked hard and scored a cracking goal, Well done!)
Blackpool Rangers Vs AFC (1st match) 17.April.2010
Team: Danny, Tom, Jacob C, Adam B, Jack, Jacob M, Rob.
Subs: Ben, Spencer.
On a bright sunny morning with a deceptively cold wind , the match kicked
off and from the start both teams looked well up for the game, but it was
not long before Rangers drew first blood when Danny(The Big D) Carr chanced
a shot at the AFC goal. The ball was just intercepted by the AFC goalkeeper
but it deflected into the net. A goal is a goal which ever way you cut it
and Rangers went into an early and confidence boosting One - Nil lead.
Rangers 1 - AFC 0.
Rangers looked confident as a team and began to play some good attacking and
defensive football, some thing had to give and sure enough the second goal
of the game for Rangers came when Jacob M took the ball forward on the wing
and then made an excellent pass to an eagerly awaiting Danny who made no
mistake as he cracked the ball home into the AFC net to put Rangers into a
comfortable two goal lead. Rangers 2 - AFC 0.
The game kicked off again but despite some good football played by both
teams, no further goals had been scored by the time first half whistle
sounded.
The second half of the match kicked off and Rangers were pretty much in
control of the situation, AFC were by no means a spent force and if Rangers
had not of kept up a good defence of their goal AFC could of easily made a
come back in the match. Fortunately for Rangers the effort put into the
second half of the game was enough to keep them in the two goal lead. No
more goals were scored during the remainder of the game so as the final
whistle blew it was a case of 'job done' for Rangers, another good win
providing valuable points which are always very welcome.
Well done boys you did the business today and looked like you were enjoying
it at the same time, that's what its all about keep it up !
Final score: Rangers 2 - AFC 0
Blackpool Rangers Vs AFC (2nd Match) 17.April.2010
Team: Johnny, Matt, Adam T, Will, Leon, Lee, Jacob H.
Subs: Sam, Ed, George.
After the winning the first match of the morning against AFC it was going to
be interesting to see if the second Rangers team could achieve a similar
result. The game kicked off and more or less from the outset Rangers looked
the better side and it was not long before the first goal for Rangers came
when Adam T sent the ball into the back of the AFC net. Rangers 1 - AFC 0.
The game kicked off very quickly again and Rangers spectators were all
hoping that the quick first goal was a good omen for the out come of the
rest of the game. As play continued it became very apparent that Rangers
were the better team on the field today and they were forcing AFC into
playing a defensive game rather than an attacking one. Rangers continued to
pressurise the AFC team with some excellent, intelligent team football and
sure enough Rangers were able to open up the AFC defences enabling Will(The
Wizz) Brown to slot the ball into the AFC net again to put Rangers into a
more comfortable two - nil lead. Rangers 2 - AFC 0.
AFC once again kicked off and by now it was clear that Rangers were buzzing
today, the whole team putting in a great effort in their respective
positions. More often that not every time there was a confrontation over
the ball it was the Rangers player who was able to gain control and take
possession even if it required chasing after the AFC man to confront him,
great sportsmanship !
Well into the first half of the match Rangers were awarded a corner, the
corner was taken and the ball came to Sam who was in a position to take a
shot at the AFC net, the shot went into the back of the AFC net for the
third time in the match to a great cheer from the Rangers players and
spectators. Rangers 3 - AFC 0.
Play continued for a short while with no further goals scored before the
first half whistle sounded and as the teams left the field the Rangers team
all appeared to be very happy teddies. Rangers 3 - AFC 0.
The second half kicked off and Rangers were in a great position. The whole
team were playing in a relaxed but controlled manner. Providing complacency
did not appear amongst the Rangers players a win was surely on the cards.
AFC on the other hand were showing some signs of frustration but to their
credit they kept to the task. Rangers were now able to pass the ball around
to each other with relative ease their confidence growing the longer the
match went on and it was not long before Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking decided
to open his account, which he did so in good style with a nice shot which
found the back of the AFC net. Rangers 4 - AFC 0. At this stage AFC must
have wondered what they could do to stop the Rangers 'machine' but they did
not seem to have any answers at this stage.
AFC kicked off again and Rangers soon had the ball up into the AFC half,
Rangers were then awarded a free kick. Leon made an excellent job of taking
the free kick which went to Johnny who was front of goal, Johnny made no
mistake and banged the ball home onto the AFC net once again. Rangers 5 -
AFC 0.
At this point Rangers were seemingly unstoppable but AFC were still a
capable side and to prove the point AFC suddenly pressed home an attack on
the Rangers goal and one of their forwards managed to crack the ball home
into the Rangers net to give AFC their first and much needed goal of the
match, Rangers 5 - AFC 1 The goal came as almost a shock to Rangers
spectators and players, but far from being a turning point in the match the
goal only seemed to fire up the Rangers side even more and it was not long
before Will(The Wizz)Brown decided it was his turn to mark up his second
goal of the game which he did in good style with a nice on target shot.
Rangers 6 - AFC 1 at this stage with not a lot of time left to play.
AFC kicked off for the final time in the match and Rangers had time to mark
up one last goal on the score card. Johnny took the honours and whacked the
ball home to give himself his third goal of the match and a well deserved
'hat trick', well done Johnny ! Rangers 7 - AFC 1
The final whistle sounded to the delight of the Rangers team and I expect to
the relief of the AFC team. Another great win by Rangers and a game which
showed just what Rangers are now capable of. Some great team football played
today by every player and a well deserved win. Keep it up boys !
Final score: Rangers 7 - AFC 1
Star Player: Johnny
Blackpool Rangers Vs Poulton Town (1st Team) 14.April.2010
Team: Will, Adam T, Johnny, Ben S, Lee, Matt, Jacob H.
Subs: Leon, Jacob M.
On a pleasant, sunny evening, the match kicked off and from the start both
teams seemed hungry to score the first goal. Both Rangers and Poulton
attacked and counter attacked in roughly equal amounts in the opening
minutes but as the first half progressed Rangers began to start firing off
more shots at goal than Poulton. Un-fortunately for Rangers, Poulton had an
excellent goal keeper who was proving to be a real ball-magnet and his
presence was going to be pivotal as the game progressed.
As the first half continued Rangers were firing off a good few on-target
shots at the Poulton goal, but time after time their goal keeper, to his
credit, stopped the ball from going into the net. It was becoming apparent
that it was going to take a very powerful and accurate shot to get past the
Poulton goalie tonight. It was not a one sided affair by any means and
Poulton were always dangerous, but any shots they managed to fire off at the
Rangers net were dealt with admirably, by Jacob(Hursty)Hurst who was
standing in for George(One man wall)Simms as goal keeper for Rangers
tonight, good job Jacob, well done.
As the first half whistle sounded no goals had been scored by either side,
despite a lot of effort by both teams in the first half of the game.
The second half kicked off and play continued in much the same manner for
the rest of the match. Rangers were firing off shots at a good rate but the
ball would just not go past the Poulton goal keeper and Rangers frustration
at the lack of goals was clear for all to see. The final whistle blew with
the score card unmarked.
Despite the lack of goals the game was very entertaining from a spectators
point of view and it was not through lack of effort that no goals were
scored, a good game to watch by any one's standard well done to all !
Final score: Rangers 0 - Poulton Town 0.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Poulton Town (2nd match) 14.April.2010
Team: Danny, Liam, Tom, Jacob C, Jack, Adam B, Rob.
Subs: Ed, George, Spencer.
The second game of the evening kicked off and from the outset it appeared
that this was going to be a very entertaining match as well. After an
initial settling in period Rangers began to look a very confident and
competent team. Poulton were by no means a poor side but Rangers soon got
into their stride and started to launch some excellent attacks on the
Poulton goal. Once again Poulton had a very good goal keeper defending their
nets tonight and as in the first match he was going to play a major part in
the out come of the game.
As play progressed Rangers midfield were initiating some great attacks upon
the Poulton goal by passing the ball up to the Rangers forwards with good
accuracy, in turn Danny and Big Tom upfront made good use of any balls that
came their way and the shots at goal started to come with increasing
regularity. Although the shots at the Poulton goal were on target and
powerful it was only the great skill of the Poulton keeper that prevented a
lot of goals being scored by Rangers. Eventually with persistence the first
goal for Rangers came when Danny managed a good, cleanly hit ball which, at
last, found the back of the Poulton net, Rangers 1 - Poulton 0. It was a
great relief to all to see the ball in the back of the Poulton goal.
As the rest of the first half was played out it appeared that the first goal
for Rangers had boosted their confidence no end and as the first half
whistle blew there was a good feeling amongst the Rangers supporters that
the second half of the match was going to be very 'interesting' to say the
least.
The second half kicked off and straight away Rangers continued to play some
great and intelligent football. The passing and positioning of the Rangers
team was a pleasure to watch and of a standard that you would expect from a
team of a greater age and experience. Poulton also played some good football
but they were being forced to play an increasingly defensive game the longer
the match continued. Eventually the relentless pressure by Rangers opened up
Poultons defences and Big Tom found him self in a position to let go a good
hard shot which sailed into the back of the Poulton net, Rangers 2 - Poulton
0. Another good goal for Rangers but once again it was hard earned and had
taken plenty of effort to achieve.
Poulton kicked off again and fairly soon Rangers were back in control as the
dominating force with Poulton being forced to adopt a defensive role again.
Rangers confidence was high and the whole team appeared to be enjoying the
game in a relaxed manner. Again, the shots by Rangers at the Poulton goal
were coming fairly constantly and it seemed it would be only a matter of
time before the ball was in the back of the Poulton net again. Sure enough
it was Big Tom again who did the business and he could not hide his delight
as he let go another powerful shot at the Poulton goal which found its
target and the ball thwacked into the back of the Poulton goal to put
Rangers into a fairly unbeatable lead with the little remaining time of the
match left to play. Rangers 3 - Poulton 0.
As the final whistle sounded no further goals were scored by either side and
Rangers players and supporters were all very happy at the outcome of the
evenings work. What more could you want, two good matches played in a very
sportsman like manner, on a lovely evening, not to mention some more points
to add to Rangers tally !
Well done boys another game to be proud of. Everyone solid from Rob in goal,
the boys in defence and midfield and up to the big boys up front. Keep up
the good work and keep up the passing, you know it does the business on the
pitch.
Final score: Rangers 3 - Poulton 0
Star player: Liam.
Blackpool Rangers Vs FC Rangers
1st Match 10 April 2010
Team: Johnny, Lee, Tom, Adam T, Adam B, Will, George.
Subs: Liam, Matt, Spencer.
The first match kicked off on an unusually sunny and warm spring morning.
Initially both teams seemed fairly equal but as things settled down it
became apparent that Blackpool Rangers were the stronger side on the pitch
and it was not long before Blackpool Rangers opened their account when
Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking smashed home a nice shot into the back of the FC
net, Blackpool Rangers 1 - FC Rangers 0. It is always nice to be the first
side to score and this goal just seemed to strengthen Rangers confidence in
a big way. Although FC fought back and launched some attacks on the
Blackpool Rangers goal very few on target shots were made and any shots that
got past the Rangers defence were dealt with in a sound fashion by
George(One man wall)Simms who defended his goal well today.
The game kicked off again and Blackpool Rangers began to take control of the
match and attacks on the FC net were being made fairly constantly.
Eventually some thing had to give and it did when Will(The Wizz)Brown made
good use the ball when it came his way and he slotted the ball nicely into
FC's net to give Rangers their second goal of the match. Blackpool Rangers
2 - FC Rangers 0. As the first half whistle blew Rangers left the field with
a comfortable 2-0 lead and it was clear to all that the team's confidence
was running high.
The second half kicked off and Blackpool Rangers soon got stuck back into
the game and gave no quarter to FC. Dominating in all areas of the pitch it
seemed that more goals would only be a matter off time and sure enough the
next goal came when Johnny sent the ball into the FC goal area where Spencer
managed to finish the job and put the ball in to the FC net once again to
give Rangers their third goal of the match. Blackpool Rangers 3 - FC Rangers
0.
I think it would be fair to say that it was going to take a very big effort
by FC to stop Rangers from winning the match today and FC did not seem to
have any answers to the Rangers machine. The fourth goal of the match for
Rangers came when Tom took a corner from the right, the ball travelled
straight to Johnny who struck the ball soundly and with some power, the ball
found the back of FC's net once again to bring Rangers into a very
comfortable 4 - 0 lead.
The match kicked off once again and FC were not a spent force by any means
but their chances of turning the game around were virtually impossible at
this stage. Blackpool Rangers were buzzing and before the final whistle blew
Thomas decided it was his turn to get one on the score card which he did in
admirable fashion with a lovely, on-target shot which sailed into the back
of FC's net for the fifth time of the game, Blackpool Rangers 5 - FC Rangers
0.
The final whistle blew with no further goals by either side. Blackpool
Rangers had put in a great performance in this match with every man in the
team including the subs, worth his salt.
A great team effort today boys and I emphasize the word team. Good passing,
good shooting and some intelligent football played, well done !
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 5 - FC Rangers 0
Match 2
Team: Jacob C, Ben S, Jacob M, Danny, Jacob H, Jack, Rob.
Subs: Ed, Sam.
After the great result achieved in the first game of the morning, every one
was hoping that the second team might be lucky enough to achieve a similar
result in their match. Would they manage to do it ?
The first half kicked off and initially both teams seemed fairly even, but
as play progressed FC Rangers began to make headway into Blackpool Rangers
defences and it was not long before FC Rangers were able to claim the first
goal of game. Despite some brave goal keeping by Robert(Big Cat)Moody the
ball found the back of the Blackpool Rangers net, Blackpool Rangers 0 - FC
Rangers 1. After the euphoria of the first game victory it was almost a
shock to see the ball in the back of the Rangers goal but that's football
for you.
Blackpool Rangers kicked off again and started to try and turn round the
game but play continued and more and more FC Rangers were able to force
their dominance upon the Blackpool Rangers side. Eventually FC's persistence
paid off and they were able to slot the ball once again into the back of
Blackpool Rangers goal, Blackpool Rangers 0 - FC Rangers 2.
The game kicked off again and played continued upto the first half whistle
with no further goals scored by either side. As Blackpool Rangers left the
pitch for the usual half time team talk, it was an unusual and sad sight to
see some of the team members with their heads down and looking defeated,
things were just not 'gelling today for them but hopes amongst players and
sideliners were still high for better things in the second half of the
match.
The second half started and Blackpool Rangers appeared to have found a new
momentum and they were starting to give a good account of them selves. It
was obvious that some of the team were feeling a sense of frustration at
their position in the game but despite a good second half effort Blackpool
Rangers were unable to get the ball into the back of FC's net. Like wise FC
were unable to mark up any further goals against Blackpool Rangers on the
score card and as the final whistle came the score remained unchanged from
the first half giving FC Rangers a 2 - 0 victory.
This match was just one of those games where things did not come together
and a few players seemed to be having a bad day, which can happen to all of
us but not to worry, another good effort any way, there's always the next
match boys. Don't loose confidence in yourselves you are all good team
players, Lady Luck was just not on your side today.
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 0 - FC Rangers 2

Blackpool Rangers Vs Layton Juniors (1st Match) 27.March.2010
Team: Leon, Jacob C, Danny, Jacob M, Jack, Jacob H, Rob.
Subs: Liam, Spencer
On a fine sunny morning the matched against Layton kicked off and hopes were
high that a good result could be achieved after Rangers great results in
previous games against Layton very recently. Play started off and both
Rangers and Layton seemed well up for the game today, the first half was
pretty even in terms of possession but Rangers did appear to be getting more
shots off at goal than Layton.
Towards half way through the first half, Layton made and attack on the
Rangers goal as the attack reach the goal area the referee blew and awarded
Layton a penalty. Great confusion was apparent not only amongst the players
but also the people on the sidelines as to why the penalty was awarded and
despite much protesting from players and spectators a like the penalty was
taken and Layton scored a goal to put them selves into a one goal lead.
Rangers 0 - Layton 1. Play continued up to the first half whistle with no
further goals scored.
The second half of the match kicked off and from the start Rangers seemed to
start playing with a new energy. The Rangers players started to pass the
ball around to each other in the great style every one knows they are
capable of doing. In quite a short time the passing began to open up
Layton's defences and suddenly Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheeseman found him self in
a good position to achieve a shot at goal. Jacob hit the ball soundly and it
went into the back of the Layton net to a great cheer from the Rangers
sideliners, bringing the score to level pegging at Rangers 1 - Layton 1. We
were back in the running and looking good !
Rangers new found energy continued and more and more shots were taken at the
Layton goal by Rangers but frustratingly the shots were just not finding
there target. Rangers did not loose faith and never letting the pressure off
began to pay off and once again Jacob(The wotsit)Cheeseman found himself in
position to launch off another shot at the Rangers net. Jacob hit the ball
squarely with good power and sure enough bang, it was in the back of the
Layton net again. Rangers 2 - Layton 1.
Despite no further goals being scored before the end of the game, Rangers
had become the dominant force on the pitch as the whistle blew. An
entertaining game with some controversy but never the less another great win
in the bag for Rangers.
Well done boys, once again proof positive of the destruction passing the
ball between each other can wreak upon your opponents, keep it up - it works
!
Final score: Rangers 2 - Layton 1
Blackpool Rangers Vs Layton (2nd Match) 27. March. 2010
Team: Lee, Johnny, Tom, Adam T, Adam B, Will, George.
Subs: Ben S, Matt, Ed, Sam.
The second match kicked off and the Rangers team were hoping to achieve a
good result in this match after the win by Rangers in the first match. Could
the Rangers lads do it again ?
As in the first game of the morning things seemed pretty even during the
first half, both teams attacking and defending in roughly equal amounts. The
Layton goal keeper was like a ball magnet today and he played a big part in
stopping Rangers from scoring a goal on many occasions, to his credit. As
the first half progressed Rangers began to edge in front in terms of ball
possession and numbers of shots at goal. Nearing the end of the first half
Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking made a nice attack on the Layton goal up the left
wing, Johnny continued to dribble the ball in towards the goal where he
managed to let go a cracking shot which he hit soundly with some power, with
great relief the ball went into the back of the Layton goal to a resounding
cheer to put Rangers into the lead. Rangers 1 - Layton 0. Although the first
goal was hard earned there was a sense on the sidelines that a win was well
within reach if Rangers could hold steady and continue to play with
confidence for the rest of the game. No further goals were scored by either
side as the whistle blew and Rangers were still holding their edge over
Layton as they left the pitch for the usual half time team talk.
The second half kicked off and play continued in a similar fashion to the
first half of the match. Layton were still dangerous and it was clear that
all goals scored today were going to have to be fought very hard for. The
match continued and Rangers were pulling ahead in terms of possession and
shots at goal. As Rangers exerted more pressure on the Layton defences Big
Thomas Miller made a great run centrally up through the Layton midfield and
up to the Layton defenders, Thomas then made a very unselfish and accurate
pass to Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking who was further ahead, Johnny made quick
work of the shot at the Layton goal and the ball was in the back of the
Layton net again to give Rangers their second goal of the game. A great
effort by Thomas showing great sportsmanship in passing the ball forward to
another team mate when he could of taken a shot himself, but to Thomas's
credit he read the situation and decided that Johnny was probably better
placed to take the shot than himself. Excellent sportsmanship by any one's
standards and Johnny was quick to acknowledge Thomas's part in making the
goal, well done lads ! Rangers 2 - Layton 0 !
Both teams continued to battle for the rest of the match but in fairness
Rangers became the more dominant side as the game progressed, no more goals
were scored by either side as the final whistle blew and it was a good
mornings work as far as Rangers were concerned with smiling faces all-round.
Well done boys two good wins this morning so job done, keep it up !

Blackpool Rangers Vs Foxhall (1st Match) 20.March.2010
Team: Johnny, Adam T, Lee, Adam B, Will, Tom, George.
Subs: Ben S, Spencer.
Well, we were here for the big one and no could of guessed how the matches
would of ended today. The first game kicked off on quite a cool, wet morning
and both sides seemed fairly well matched as play progressed but after about
five minutes Foxhall managed to get the ball well up into the Rangers goal
area and with a well struck shot a Foxhall forward slotted away the first
goal of the match. Rangers 0 - Foxhall 1.
There was a palpable sense of deflation apparent amongst the Rangers
supporters on the sidelines. Was the mighty Foxhall machine going to live up
to its reputation and give Rangers a thrashing ? The people on the sidelines
may have thought so but the Rangers players had a different idea. Far from
excepting an inevitable defeat the Rangers players got the bit between their
teeth and started to fight back in good style and it was not long before
Rangers were putting together some fine team play and it was obvious to all
that their confidence was growing as the match progressed. As both teams
continued to battle, Rangers forwards started chip away at the Foxhall
defences until they finally cracked when Will(The Wizz)Brown who was well up
towards the Foxhall goal managed a nice pass to a ready and waiting
Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking, Johnny made no mistake and banged the ball home
into the back of the Foxhall net to level the score. Rangers 1 - Foxhall 1 !
The equalising goal seemed to suddenly raise the spirits of the Rangers
team. This was the mighty Foxhall, we had just scored the equaliser and in
all honesty a win by Rangers began to look well within reach as Rangers
confidence grew more and more as the match progressed. The battle continued
upto the first half whistle with no further goals scored but this was
turning into an entertaining game and hopes were high for good things in the
second half.
The second half kicked off and Rangers looked confident to a man. The game
continued with some entertaining football from both teams and it was a
pleasure to watch the match from the side lines. Opinion amongst the Rangers
'sideliners' was that Rangers were beginning to look the more dangerous
team. Rangers forwards were putting together some nice attacks on the
Foxhall goal and any attacks by Foxhall were being repelled by a solid
Rangers defence with a very energetic Lee Rumming giving a good account of
himself today when the situation required it. Any shots that got past the
Rangers defence were dealt with by George(One man wall)Simms who put in a
sound performance today.
Play continued and Rangers now had no fear of the Foxhall side and they knew
it and in the later stages of the match Rangers became the attacking force
on the pitch, forcing Foxhall into playing an increasingly more defensive
game. Rangers could not manage to slot the ball home to take the lead, but
Big Ben Smith had a good try when he launched off a great shot from the
right wing which made a frustratingly resounding thud as the ball bounced
off the lower right hand goal post.
As the final whistle blew the scored remained at Rangers 1 - Foxhall 1. A
well matched game that could of gone either way but Rangers seemed to end
the war as the stronger side but I would say that any way !
Well done boys a great game of football by anyone's standards. Good to watch
as a spectator and no doubt a great game to of taken part in.
This match was a fine example of just what football is all about. Well done
and be proud of your selves and your team mates.

Blackpool Rangers Vs Foxhall (2nd Match)20.March.2010
Team: Jack, Liam, Jacob H, Jacob M, Leon, Danny.
Subs: Matt, Jacob C, Sam, Ed.
After the great performance by the first Rangers team in the previous match,
hopes were high that the second team could put in a similar effort in their
match and what a great match it turned out to be !
The game kicked off and every Rangers players looked well up for it from the
start. Despite the Foxhall team having some physically bigger players than
Rangers, all the Rangers team held fast and looked well organised. The early
stages were pretty even in terms of attacking and counter attacking. After
about ten minutes Foxhall were awarded a corner and all the Rangers players
got themselves into defensive and marking positions, the corner was struck
and the ball came over to the far post where it was scrambled in to give Foxhall a 1-0 lead. Rangers kicked off the game again, not an ideal start but the
match was still there to be won. The battle continued and Rangers had
clearly lost none of their spirit despite the goal. In the final stages
of the first half Rangers were awarded a corner, Steve told Leon to take the
corner. Leon struck the ball in superb fashion and to every one's absolute
pleasure the ball curled in to the Foxhall net for a goal ! As the first half whistle blew the match was still
anybodies and Rangers confidence was growing as the match progressed.
Rangers 1 - Foxhall 1 .
The second half of the match kicked off and Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheeseman had
come on as sub new boots and all. After a few minutes into the first half
Rangers were looking the hungrier side and started attacking in a very
determined fashion, as another attack was launched Jacob C found himself in
position to take a shot, he struck the shot well and it went into the
Foxhall net and a great cheer was given. We were 2-1 up against a good team
and looking good ! Rangers 2 - Foxhall 1.
The match kicked off again and after a few minutes Foxhall made an attack on
the Rangers goal, a Foxhall forward took a powerful shot and the ball found
the back of the Rangers net to even up the score again. Wow, this was
turning into a very good and entertaining match. Both sides clearly wanted
the win and at this stage it was still any bodies. Rangers 2 - Foxhall 2.
Rangers kicked off again and got straight back to business, and it was not
long before Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheeseman again got him self into a position to
be able to take a shot again. Once more Jacob struck the ball soundly and
yes, it found the back of the Foxhall goal again, to a great cheer the goal
had now put Rangers back into the lead with not much time left to play.
Could Rangers do it ? Rangers 3 - Foxhall 2.
Foxhall kicked off again and quite quickly launched an attack on the Rangers
goal again one of their forwards to took a shot and bang it found the back
of the net again to even up the score to Rangers 3 - Foxhall 3. Robert(Big
Cat)Moody who was in goal for Rangers was beginning to look at bit
distressed at the situation, Robert need not have worried as there was
nothing he could of done about the shots that got passed him today. They
were pretty much un-stoppable. Robert always gives a good account of himself
and today's efforts by Robert were no different, well done Robert !
With minutes left and the score even, most people were resigned to the match
ending in a penalty shoot out. As the final two or three minutes were being
played Rangers looked the more dangerous side. One last attack by either
side was going to decide the out come and Foxhall managed to make that final
push and one of there forwards got into a position to make a final attempt
on the Rangers goal the ball was struck and it found its way into the back
of the Rangers net ! The score now being Rangers 3 - Foxhall 4 the matched
kicked off for the last time and very soon the whistle to end the match
sounded.
What a great match, very entertaining with goals aplenty with a bit of drama
thrown in for good measure, what more could you ask for ? Despite not
winning the game Rangers should be proud of their performance today and
Rangers could of very easily been in the final instead of Foxhall.
Well done to every one today, great to see every one back on form and
showing what you and we all know your capable of.
I don't know what new boots Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheesman had on today but I
want some.

Blackpool Rangers Vs Layton Juniors (1st Match) 13.March.2010
Team: Spencer, Sam, Jonny, Jack, Adam T, Lee, Rob.
Subs: Adam B, Will,Cheesey
The first match kicked off on a deceptively cold but dry day and today
Rangers really could do with a good result or two to raise team spirits
after the disappointing results of the previous weekends matches. Could
Rangers turn things around today ?
Play quickly settled into a very evenly matched affair with both sides
having roughly equal possession of the ball. Rangers began to make some
attacks on the Layton goal but the resulting shots were just not finding
their target. Like wise Layton were also attacking the Rangers goal and at
some points in the match Rob(Big Cat)Moody was being kept very busy
defending his goal, but defend his goal he did in the truest sense of the
word, bravely going to ground to take the ball from his opponents feet if it
was required of him. Excellent goal keeping Robert well done !
As play continued up to the first half whistle no goals had been scored and
it had become apparent that this match was turning into a war of attrition
with neither side giving any thing away at this stage of the game. Rangers
0 - Layton 0.
After the usual half time team talk the game kicked off again and play
continued in much the same manner as the first half but gradually Rangers
began to make some headway and the ball began to spend much more time in
Layton's half as Rangers launched more attacks on the Layton goal. Will(The
Wizz)Brown was putting in a effort up front but try as he might he could
just not get the ball on target and into the back of the Layton net. Will's
own frustration at the situation was plain for all to see, but hey, that's
the way the cookie crumbles as they say.
As play continued into the last five minutes of the match, Rangers had the
'lions share' of ball possession and as another attack was pressed home
Rangers forwards were just front of goal when Adam T made a nice pass to a
waiting Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheesman who managed to strike the ball cleanly at
the Layton goal. Layton's goalie grabbed the ball into his arms but
unfortunately the ball managed to squeeze out from under his arms and to add
insult to injury the ball fell to the ground and then trickled right between
his legs and into the net. A real 'greasy pig' shot as the saying goes, but
a goal is a goal which ever way you cut it ! Rangers 1 - Layton 0.
The remaining minutes were played out with no further goals scored by either
team and as the final whistle came Rangers players and spectators alike
could not hide their pleasure at having achieved the win. Rangers 1 - Layton
0.
A very equally matched game in every one's opinion, but it was also thought
by several people that had Rangers passed the ball between them selves more
and not been so panicky in their play, the score could of been alot
different in Rangers favour. On many occasions during the match some Rangers
players did not seem to be controlling the ball but just immediately kicking
at it wildly with no apparent thought or plan of where they wanted the ball
to go. It is very important to control the ball once you have it in your
possession, before you decide where to 'place' it. Very often just one
controlling touch of the ball before you shoot or pass the ball can make all
the difference. Any way, when all's said and done a win is a win so well
done boys, keep training and concentrate when you are on the pitch.

Blackpool Rangers Vs Layton Juniors (2nd Match)13.March.2010
Team: Tom, Liam, Jacob H, Jacob M, Thomas, Matt, George.
Subs: Ed, Leon
Having achieved a very welcome victory in the first match of the morning,
every one was hoping that the second Rangers team might be able to do the
same. The game kicked off and as in the first game it appeared that this was
also going to be a very evenly fought affair and that is just what the first
half turned out to be with both sides taking roughly equal possession of the
ball, attacking and countering each other inturn and that's how the game
continued up until the first half whistle blew. By no means a boring first
half but no goals were scored by either side as the first half when the
whistle blew.
The second half kicked off and the battle continued as before but some how
Rangers started to the look the more dangerous side whilst Layton were being
forced to play an increasingly more defensive game than in the first half.
Eventually the pressure exerted by Rangers finally opened up Layton's
defences and Danny was able to slot a nice shot away to give Rangers their
first goal of the match. Rangers 1 - Layton 0
The match kicked off again and quite quickly Rangers settled back into being
the aggressive force on the pitch. Another goal was surely imminent and it
came via a nice pass from Danny to a ready and waiting Leon who made no
mistake as he wacked the ball into the back of the Layton net. It was a very
welcome goal which put Rangers into a more comfortable lead. Rangers 2 -
Layton 0.
Layton were by no means a spent force and Rangers were in no position to
drop their guard. The rest of the match was played out with no further goals
scored by either team and when the final whistle blew it was a good feeling
for Rangers spectators and players alike to have been able to have claimed
two wins for their mornings work.
Once again, as in the first match, opinions from the side lines were that
Rangers could of achieved a greater or easier win if more passing had been
apparent amongst Rangers players. Despite the win there was still elements
of panicky or hurried play occurring. If Rangers players had taken more time
to control the ball with just one or two touches before deciding what to do
with the ball next, the whole process would of been a lot more efficient.
Any way, that aside, a win is a win so a big well done boys keep it up and
keep training hard on Tuesday nights !

Blackpool Rangers Vs Wyre Juniors (1st Match) 6.March.2010
Team: Adam T, Matty, Danny, Leon, George, Jacob M, Jacob H.
Subs: Liam, Jacob C.
On a unusually sunny and very spring-like morning the game kicked off and as
usual it was going to be very interesting to see how the game would unfold.
Both Rangers and Wyre attacked and defended in equal amounts initially but
as the first half continued it became apparent that Wyre had two or three
in-form players up front and these guys were going to prove pivotal as the
game progressed.
About half way through the first half Wyre launched an attack on the Rangers
goal and as they moved towards the Rangers net they managed to execute a
neat one - two manoeuvre which was then finished with a nice on target shot
which found the back of the Rangers net to put Wyre into the lead. Rangers
0 - Wyre 1.
At this stage of the game no one could have guessed which way the match was
going to end, as both sides still seemed fairly well matched, although Wyre
have proved to be Rangers nemeses in the past, hopes were still high that a
win could be achieved for Rangers today. The rest of the first half was
played without further goal by either side when the first half whistle came,
the game was still anybody's.
The second half kicked off and again things seemed fairly equal, but then
Wyre seemed to get the bit between their teeth and moved their play up a
gear. Wyre's forwards were putting together some nice moves and despite some
determined defending by Rangers, Wyre still managed to breach Rangers
defences and put the ball into the back of the Rangers net to achieve their
second goal of the game and put them selves into a 2-0 lead. Rangers 0 -
Wyre 2 !
Once again the game kicked off and Rangers were having to defend their goal
more and more as Wyre turned into the main attacking force on the pitch.
Incidentally, Matty had been instructed to mark Wyre's centre forward today
and what a great job he did, he stuck to the guy like glue and gave him very
little time to settle. Well done to Matty, its great to see you back on top
again and very obviously enjoying your self, good on ya !
As the match continued Wyre launched yet another attack on the Rangers goal
and Matty in defence met the attacking player head on with a determined and
strong defensive tackle. The Wyre player went down and the referee blew the
whistle to award Wyre a penalty. Some thought the the penalty awarded
against Rangers seemed a little harsh, but the ref's in charge so we must
abide by his decision. Wyre's big forward elected to take the penalty and a
ready and waiting George(One man wall)Simms stood firmly in the goal mouth
ready to defend his net. The shot was struck with some force to the lower
left hand corner of the net. George then made a tremendous dive and stopped
the shot, but the ball rebounded back to the feet of a waiting Wyre player
who then whacked the ball at the goal again, George to his credit also
managed to dive and stop this shot as well and to Rangers relief the ball
bounced out of play for a corner. Georges determined goal keeping was
rewarded with a great and deserved round of applause, nice one George !
At this stage the game was not a write off for Rangers by any means but the
chances of turning the game round seemed to be diminishing and the final
blow came when Wyre managed to slot the ball into the Rangers net once again
to put themselves into a very comfortable three goal lead. Rangers 0 - Wyre
3.
The remaining minutes were played out with no further goals scored, Rangers
being unable to find any answers to Wyre's onslaught. Rangers 0 - Wyre 3 as
the final whistle blew.
For Rangers a case of so near yet so far today. Both sides were keen to win
today but Wyre turned out to be the keener of the two when the cards were on
the table. There appeared to be a lack of confidence or the 'will to win'
today by Rangers, which is a shame because some times that 'will to win' can
make all the difference. Not to worry lads, heads up and remember
PASS-PASS-PASS passing destroys your opponents, COMMUNICATE - let your team
mates know where you are before they have to look for you first and
SHOOT-SHOOT-SHOOT - NO SHOTS- NO GOALS, don't be shy if you think you are in
a position to try a shot at goal don't wait for an invitation, hit that ball
strong and hard, go for it, hit it like you mean it ! If the shot isn't on,
pass the ball to some one in a better position. Next time lads, next time.
Final score Rangers 0 - Wyre 3.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Wyre Juniors (2nd Match) 6.March.2010
Team: Robert, Jack, Jonny, Adam B, Will, Lee, Ben S.
Subs: Spencer, Ed, Sam.
After the disappointing defeat in the first match of the morning, all hopes
were now resting on the shoulders of the second Rangers team to see if they
could win the next game to give both clubs a win-a-piece, well could Rangers
do it ?
The game kicked off and soon settled in a fairly evenly matched battle with
both sides having roughly equal possession of the ball, attacking and
countering each other as the first half progressed. Slowly Wyre seemed to
start edging ahead as regards numbers of attacking moves actually resulting
in the required and crucial, shot a goal. Some of the Rangers players did
not seem to be firing on all cylinders today and either lacked the
confidence or the will to press home their own attacks upon the Wyre goal.
As the game moved on this became more and more apparent, despite this, as
the whistle to end the first half came the game was still a level zero-zero
on the score card.
The second half kicked off and the game was still anybody's to be won. At
this stage both sides were dangerous but it was Wyre who were getting off
the shots at goal and when all's said and done, unless the shots are being
taken you ain't gonna score any goals. Wyre's higher shot-at-goal rate
finally paid off when a about half way into the second half one of their
shots found its target and made it into the back of the Rangers net to give
them the first goal of the match. Rangers 0 - Wyre 1.
The match kicked off again and still the game could of gone either way. Try
as Rangers could, shots at the Wyre goal were just not coming today and the
score remained the same until Wyre again, pressed home another attack on the
Rangers goal which resulted with the ball once again in the back of the
Rangers net. Rangers 0 - Wyre 2.
At this stage Rangers appeared from the sidelines to have almost accepted
defeat and could not put together and press home any purposeful attack on
the Wyre goal. Some excellent defending by Rangers, particularly by a busy
Lee Rumming prevented any further damage by Wyre and as the final whistle
came the score remained at Rangers 0 - Wyre 2.
The match turned out to be a very similar affair to the first game, once
again so near yet so far. On the day Wyre were the better or hungrier team.
Which ever way you cut it they got the result they wanted, perhaps they just
wanted it more than Rangers today ?
Next time boys, at least three shredded wheat for breakfast and in bed by
7.00pm the night before (as if).

Kirkham Juniors v Blacpool Rangers 27/2/10
1st Match
Team: Robert, Jack, Lee, Jacob C, Johnny, Ben, Will
Subs: Mathew, Sam
We have gone a few weeks...again without a game but felt we did well against a well organised and determined Kirkham side. It was obvious from the start it would be a close game with each side having good spells of possesion. Ben on the right in outstanding form recently ran himself into the ground for the team and with Jack, Lee and Robert keeping a tight ship at the back things looked solid. The first half finished with the honours even at 0-0. Second half started and the tricky Cheesey made way for Mathew as the outstanding Jack pushed into midfield. Sam came on for an exhausted Ben Smith. It seemed to tip the game in our favour with is keeping pressure on the Kirkham defence. A through ball found Will chasing through the middle, the keeper charged off his line but was judged by the ref to have handled the ball just outside the box. Johnny stepped up with instructions to shoot, he and Sam had differnt ideas and linked up well for Sam to blast in a great opening goal. 1-0 Rangers. The goal seamed to give Kirkham a lift and they pushed at us hitting the bar from distance and finally breaking us down after good work on the left, crossing the ball in and kncking in from close range 1-1. Both teams pushed for a winner but as the final whistle blew, both managers agreed it was a hard fought game which resulted in a fair result between two very evenly matched sides.
Match 2
Team: George, Thomas, Jakob H, Adam T, Danny, Leon, Jacob M.
Subs:Edward, Adam B & Spencer
This game again, as in the first started very evenly with Rangers struggling early on with their confidence. Thomas and Jakob though held firm, with George in good form behind them in goal. However we got caught on the 10minute mark with a sucker punch. Kirkham broke quickly down the left and were left one on one with Thomas, a great turn caused Thomas to stumble and the Kirkham player finished cooly under the body of George 1-0 Kirkham. This was just the thing we needed to get us going and we really stepped up the pace, passing with great accuracy. We forced a corner down the right and Leon whipped in a quality ball with his sweet left foot. Jacob attacked the ball with real determination and volleyed the ball into the back of the net 1-1. We pushed again with the outstanding Danny running passed several players from just inside the half, to cooly slot passed the keeper. 2-1 We pushed again and after some good passing play Danny scored again turning the game on its head in a great 10 minute spell for us, bringing us in 3-1 up at half time.
Second half started and we continued to play well Adam T on the right having a good game and Leon battling hard down the left. We made changes with Spencer & Adam B coming on. We changed our shape a little bit when we did this and we seemed to lose the momentum a little. When we re shuffled it back 5 mins later we again looked much better and forced a free kick from about 20 yards out. Up stepped Danny who blasted it into the top corner to get a well deserved hat trick. Edward came on at the back as we continued to look solid in defence aided by Thomas in unstoppable form.
Top effort boys well done. Final score 4-1. Rangers!!

Blackpool Rangers vs AFC (1st match) 6.February. 2010
Team: Danny, Liam, Tom, Jacob M, Jacob H, Leon, Rob.
Subs: Spencer,Sam,Adam B.
After the cancellation of the previous weekends match due to ice, the lads seemed well up for the match today. The game kicked off in foggy conditions but the fog was not severe enough to effect play and very soon Rangers began to take control of the match. Working like the proverbial " well oiled machine " the whole team to a man, were putting in an enthusiastic and skilful effort.
Quite soon Rangers began firing shots off at the AFC goal but it soon became apparent that the AFC goal keeper was in good form today and to the frustration of the Rangers players, time after time he stopped good shots from entering the AFC net. The first half continued with Rangers clearly dominating but still unable to put the ball into the AFC goal net. In fact so much of the first half of the match was played in the AFC half of the pitch that at one point it looked as if Rangers goal keeper Robert(Big Cat)Moody could of come off the pitch for a bacon batty and returned with out any one noticing ! To Roberts credit he didn't take advantage of the lack of his services today and he kept watch over his net in his usual and stoical manner, always focused on the job in hand.
Play continued and eventually persistence paid off when Danny managed a nice ass to Leon who in turn, made a great shot to send the ball soundly into the back of AFC's goal to give Rangers their first goal of the game. Phew !
what a relief it was for Rangers players and spectators alike when the goal eventually came, about time too boys, Rangers 1 - AFC 0.
The rest of the first half continued up to the whistle in much the same ashion with Rangers clearly dominating the game, but still unable to get the ball past the AFC keeper to get that second goal on the score card.
Rangers 1 - AFC 0.
The second half kicked and the match continued as in the first half with again Rangers dominating the game. Time after time shots at the AFC goal were stopped dead by their very competent keeper. Rangers Jakey M made numerous attacks on the AFC goal and his obvious frustration at not being able to get the ball into the net was plain for all to see, although his
frustration was always expressed in a sportsman like manner.
Play continued until, once again, Rangers persistence paid off when Jacob M found himself able to pass the ball onto a nicely positioned Danny who then took a shot at the AFC net. To a great cheer the ball sailed into the back of the AFC goal net to bring Rangers into a more comfortable 2 - Nil lead.
Rangers 2 - AFC 0 !
The remainder of the second half was played out in much the same manner as the rest of the match with Rangers clearly dominating but as the final whistle sounded no further goals came from either side, Rangers 2 - AFC 0.
Liam put in a great effort today and gave a good display of what is required of a midfielder, taking part in and initiating many attacks on the AFC goal and then rushing back to back up the defence when required to. Both Liam's and Jakey M's efforts did not go unnoticed today and they both were awarded with Star Player status in recognition of their efforts at the end of the
match. Well done Liam and Jacob M.
Well done to all of you boys, a great game to watch with some good and
entertaining football played. The score could of easily been very different in Rangers favour but for two factors, 1 - AFC had a cracking goal keeper in good form today and 2 - had more of Rangers shots at the AFC goal been
slightly more well targeted, they could well of been out of the AFC goal keepers grasp and in the net. Never the less, a good 2- 0 win, job done !!
Keep it up.
Final score: Rangers 2 - AFC 0.
Blackpool Rangers Vs AFC (2nd match) 6.February.2010
Team: Will, Jonny, Jacob C, Adam T, Ben, Lee, George.
Subs: Jack, Matt, Ed.
After the great result for Rangers in the first game of the morning, every one was hoping that a similar result would come for the second team. After the usual initial settling down period it looked as if another win was very achievable for the second Rangers team, although it did appear to be a more equally matched affair.
From the kick off Rangers seemed to have a consistently greater possession of the ball and once again the whole team were working well together and as in the first game, it appeared that goals were going to have to be "earned"
today. Rangers made plenty of attacks on the AFC goal but getting the ball
into the back of the net was proving to be the trickiest bit today.
Eventually the hard work paid off when Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking made a nice central run well into the AFC half and then managed to pass the ball to a
well positioned Will(The Wizz)Brown, who cashed in with a nice touch sending
the ball into the AFC net for Rangers first goal of the match. It is always
a great confidence booster to get the first goal on the score card in any
game and the smiles on the Rangers players and spectators faces alike said
it all. Rangers 1 - AFC 0.
The game kicked off again and play continued as before with Rangers some how
always having an edge over AFC, although AFC were always a danger. Despite
several attempts on AFC's goal by Rangers they were unable to stick the ball
into the net before the first half whistle sounded and the score remained at
Rangers 1 - AFC 0, as the half time team talk took place.
The second half kicked off and play quickly settled in to same pattern with
once again Rangers holding the edge over AFC. Rangers kept up their work
rate with some great passing and intelligent football being displayed and
once again the hard work paid off when Big Ben Smith found himself with the
space and time to take a good shot which found the back of the AFC goal. A
great goal by Ben to bring Rangers into a more comfortable and re-assuring
two nil lead. Ranger 2 - AFC 0 !
The match kicked off once again and it appeared to some that AFC had a new
urgency about their play. Rangers held fast and were countering well against
any attempts on their goal when out of the blue an AFC player took a shot
from just inside the Rangers half of the pitch. The shot carried great speed
and power and the ball sailed through the air and into the Rangers net. Goal
keeper, George(The One Man Wall)Simms was unable to reach the ball as it
went into the far left hand corner of the net, I don't think any one could
of got to that ball, the speed it was travelling and the position it landed
in the net were key. Good goal any way ! Rangers 2 - AFC 1.
The game continued with both teams putting in a good effort but no further
goals came before the final whistle sounded. Another good game to watch
especially if you happen to be on the winning side, with some entertaining
football played. Matthew who came on as sub, looked to be really enjoying
himself today and he put in a great effort in defence. His efforts did not
go un-noticed and he was awarded with Star Player status at the end of the
match, well done Matty great to see you smiling and enjoying your football
so much keep it up !
Well done boys another good team effort, keep it up and the rewards will
come. Keep training hard and what's more keep focused when you are training.
If you get complacent you will get caught out some time when you least
expect it, so FOCUS-FOCUS-FOCUS at your training sessions.

Blackpool Rangers Vs St Annes (1st Match) 23. January. 2010
Team: Adam T, Adam B, Danny, Thomas, Spencer, George, Jacob M.
Subs: Leon, Matt.
The match kicked off on a cold and misty morning with the results against St Annes the previous weekend obviously still fresh in players and spectators minds. Would today's matches end in similar results ?
From the outset this St Annes team some how seemed a more "together" side than the previous weekend and it soon became apparent that this was going to be a closely fought affair. Both Rangers and St Annes attacked and counter attacked each others goal with determination. Several of the attacks on the Rangers goal breached Rangers defences, leaving George(One man wall)Simms in goal to provide a final solution and to his credit he did just that with some brave and worthy saves, going to ground to halt the ball in its tracks at the oppositions feet if the situation required it. Well done George !
The first half play continued and Rangers started to make some head way in to the St Annes defences. Eventually the pressure paid off and Adam T got him self in a position for a relatively close range shot at the St Annes goal. Adam let the shot go and it was into the back of the net to give Rangers the first goal of the game, Rangers 1 - St Annes 0, great start !
The game kicked off again and quite quickly St Annes seemed to move up a gear. They then launched their own attack on the Rangers goal which resulted in a shot which had the power and accuracy to find its way past the "on form" George and in to the back of the Rangers net. Rangers lead had been short lived the score now being an equal Rangers 1 - St Annes 1.
All was not lost and Rangers quickly kicked off again and got stuck back into business. St Annes then made another attack on the Rangers goal and one of their forwards let go a hard shot at the net. Thomas, who as usual, was playing with great effort and determination, was stood a few yards in front of the St Annes forward as he let the shot go. Quite instinctively,he raised his hand in front of his head to defend him self from taking the full force of the ball into his face. Unfortunately and some what harshly the referee decided to award a penalty. Thomas was obviously greatly distressed by the decision but his reaction to the ball heading towards his face at speed, was one which every player would have made in the same
situation and bore no disgrace.
The penalty was taken and the shot which was a hard and well placed one, found the back of the net. Rangers 1 - St Annes 2. The match kicked off again and play continued up to the first half whistle with no further goals scored.
After the half time break the game kicked off again and Rangers seemed to have a renewed sense of urgency about their play. All the team were putting in a great effort with some great defending of the Rangers goal taking place. Time after time Rangers launched attacks on the St Annes goal and time after time shots by Danny and Adam T amongst others, powered towards the St Annes goal mouth but the ball just would not go in the net. Shots hit and bounced off the cross bar and goal posts countless times and the ball was twice saved on the line by St Annes players, the ball would just not go in the net !
Play continued and St Annes managed another attack on the Rangers goal which resulted in a shot at which found the back of the Rangers net which brought the score to Rangers 1 - St Annes 3.
As the final whistle sounded the sense of frustration for the Rangers team was very apparent. Many shots at the St Annes goal mouth had been taken but the ball would just not find its target.
Well done boys a game well played, the result could of so easily been very different and in Rangers favour but Lady luck was not on your side to day and as the saying goes "some times you have to make your own luck" !
Keep practising taking those shots at goal but remember next time , better accuracy = more shots on target = more goals on the score card !!!
Final score: Rangers 1 - St Annes 3.
Blackpool Rangers Vs St Annes (2nd match) 23.January.2010
Team: Jonny, Ben, Will, Lee, Jacob C, Jack, Rob.
Subs: Ed, Sam.
The second team match kicked off and after the previous weekends terrific result against the same side, expectations were high although by no means guaranteed. The game quickly settled down into much the same sort of battle as the previous weekends encounter but St Annes seemed to be fielding a slightly stronger team. Rangers were going to have to work harder to achieve a similar result. Both teams attacked and countered in roughly equal amounts and each team managed to achieve shots at each others goals. Rangers started to up their work rate as the first half progressed and about three
quarters through the first half Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking, who was well up the field to the right of the St Annes goal, managed to fire off an
excellent overhead kick clearly aimed at the St Annes goal mouth. The ball went into the St Annes net to give Rangers their first and very welcome goal of the game, Rangers 1 - St Annes 0 !
To the uninitiated who are not aware of what Jonny is capable of, the shot could of easily been written off as a fluke, but to those of us who know what Jonny is capable of it was a clear but daring attempt to score which paid off. Having seen Jonny score in this way before, I don't think it was a surprise to most Rangers players and spectators. Well done Jonny - good on ya !
The game kicked off again and play continued in much the same vain. Rangers began to domineer as play progressed but the goals were just not going to come that easy to day. St Annes were always dangerous but any attacks they attempted on the Rangers goal were well defended by Jack(The Giant Killer)Arliss and a very determined Lee Rumming. The occasional ball that breached Jack and Lee's defences were dealt with by the ever capable
Robert(Big Cat)Moody who kept goal in his usual solid manner.
When the first half whistle sounded no further goals had been scored by either team.
The second half kicked off and in many ways it would be fair to say that the game could still of gone either way at this stage. Play continued with Rangers beginning to make some head way into St Annes defences. Eventuallypersistence paid off when Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheeseman, who was well up on the left of the field managed a great pass to an eagerly awaiting Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking, Jonny made no mistake and fired off a nice shot with plenty
of power behind it which ended up in the back of the St Annes goal. At last
Rangers were starting to extend their lead by pure hard work nothing else.
Rangers 2 - St Annes 0.
The game kicked off once again and it felt like another goal was on the
cards, surely it was just a matter of time. Again Rangers got stuck in and
kept chipping away at the St Annes team once again persistence paid off when
Jonny managed to moved the ball up to Will(The Wiz)Brown who cashed in and
cracked the ball into the St Anne's net again for the third and what proved
to be the final goal of the game with Rangers 3 - St Anne's 0 as the whistle
blew to end the match.
Well done boys, a quality game in every sense of the word. Some thought we
were unlucky not to have more goals on the score card but hey, you have to
make your own luck some times, as the saying goes.
Another battle well fought and well won, keep it up. Keep training hard and
stay focused and the rewards will come.
Final score Rangers 3 - St Annes 0.

Blackpool Rangers Vs St Annes (1st Match) 16.Jan.2010
Team: Ben S, Jacob C, Jonny, Jack, Will, Jacob H, Rob.
Subs: Liam, Lee, Spencer.
After a month with out playing a match, it was with great anticipation when the kick off for the first match came. The morning weather was bitterly cold and windy, enough to test the metal of an adult team never mind an under
10's team.
The game started and quite quickly Rangers began to find the good form they were showing preceding the Christmas break. The quality of passing and team play in general soon began to chip away at St Annes defences and it was not
long before the first Rangers goal came when Jack made a lovely pass to nicely positioned Jacob(The Wotsit) Cheeseman who was well up right of the St Annes goal. Jacob clipped the ball into the St Annes goal to open Rangers
account and get Rangers the first goal of 2010 on the score card. What a good feeling for players and spectators alike ! Rangers 1 -St Annes 0.
Was this going to be the first goal of several for Rangers or were St Annes going to equalize ? It was not long before the answer came, when Will(The Wizz)Brown found himself in possession of the ball up on the right wing, Will made a great run dribbling the ball and once he was in range he let go a cross which found the St Annes net. Rangers 2 - St Annes 0 at this stage and things were looking good for Rangers.
Rangers carried on playing in a similar fashion more or less dominating in every area of the pitch. St Annes did make some counter attacks on the Rangers goal mouth but any balls which found their way past the Rangers
defence were dealt with by the solid Robert(Big cat)Moody who was doing a sound job of keeping goal today as he usually does.
As final minutes of the first half were played out Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking made a nice central run with the ball deep into the St Annes half and then managed a nice pass to Big Ben Smith who made a sound job of putting the ball into the St Annes net for the third goal of the match for Rangers.
Rangers 3 - St Annes 0 ! The first half whistle sounded and as the players walked off for the half time team talk the spirits of both Rangers players and spectators were high and rightly so.
The second half of the match kicked off with Liam now taking his place in the team and it was not long before he made his presence felt. After some determined and hard won tackles Liam dribbled the ball to the front of the St Annes goal and then put the ball away into the net with a sweet shot. Rangers 4 - St Annes 0 !
Rangers were playing some great football with the whole team operating like one well oiled machine. The ball was being passed around with accuracy and layers were positioning them selves in an intelligent manner and opening up
some great opportunities for further attacks on the St Annes goal mouth. Very soon Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking decided it was his turn to get on the score card and he did so with a good powerful shot sending the ball into the
back of the St Annes net to bring Rangers into a five goal lead. Rangers 5 - St Annes 0.
At this stage of the game I think it would be fair to say that St Annes were struggling to find an answer to the Rangers machine today, but despite the growing lead that Rangers had, the St Annes team did not seem to show any
outward signs of giving up and continued to carry on with the battle in a sportsman like fashion, other teams could of easily folded at this stage, but St Annes did not.
The match progressed and now it was Spencer's turn to get a goal on the score card, which he did in an admirable fashion with a sound shot from right of the St Annes net. Rangers 6 - St Annes 0 !
With Rangers now firmly in control of the game and becoming more and more relaxed and confident the goals continued to come. Next up it was Jonny again who found him self in position to take a long shot well out from the
St Annes goal. Jonny often attempts shots at opponent goals which to any one who doesn't know the power he can put into a shot, might seem fool hardy, but a sure night follows day his shot powered into the St Annes net unhindered. Lovely stuff. Rangers 7 - St Annes 0 !
As the end of the match approached Rangers were not showing any mercy and continued to battle on with the game. Rangers were awarded a corner on the right of the St Annes goal. Liam took the corner which found a Rangers
player front of goal. Liam then raced in towards the St Annes goal and the ball was passed back to him, he took on and beat the St Annes defender and then sent the ball into the St Annes goal for his second goal of the match
and bringing the score to Rangers 8 - St Annes 0.
As the final whistle blew both Rangers players and spectators alike were elated, cold - but elated and the smiles on the faces of the players were plain for all to see.
Well done to all the team, you played with great heart, good skill and also showed some great positional and technical football. Keep up the good work and the rewards will come.
Also well done to all the parents and carers etc, who turned up to support the boys on one of the coldest of mornings. By all accounts there were very few pitches playable on the Fylde today but despite the bitter cold and wind there was a good turn out.
Final score - Rangers 8 - St Annes 0.
Star player 1 - Every single man in the team !!!!
Star player 2 - Spencer
Blackpool Rangers Vs St Annes (2nd Match) 16.January.2010
Team: Danny,Adam T, Adam B, Jacob M, Ed, Leon, George.
Sub: Matt, Ed.
After the great result for Rangers in the first match of the morning, every one was hoping that the second match might provide a similar result ?
The game kicked off and after a short while it was clear that this game was going to be a more evenly fought affair with the two sides being more evenly matched. Both Rangers and St Annes put in a lot of effort, attacking each
others goal, defending and counter attacking in equal proportions. Eventually St Annes managed to breach Rangers defences and despite some solid goal keeping by George the ball found the back of the net to put St Annes into a one goal lead, Ranger 0 - St Annes 1.
Rangers kicked off again and the battle continued as before with both sides putting in a good effort, this was going to be a close one for sure and every goal was going to count. Incidentally, Thomas put in some great sliding tackles to win the ball on several occasions today. Whilst a sliding tackle can easily become a dangerous tackle, Thomas seems to have almost perfected the art of late and is able to snatch the ball away from and opponents feet with some daring but text book and sportsman like tackles. Brave stuff, which requires excellent timing to execute correctly, well done
Thomas.
The first half continued and after some sustained effort by Rangers, Danny found him self in a position to chance a shot at the St Annes goal, which he did and the result was a very welcome goal which evened the score up and put
Rangers back into the match. Now it was any one's game again with a win a possibility for either team once more.
The match continued up to the first half whistle in much the same manner with no further goals scored.
The second half kicked off and the win could easily gone either way at this stage. Both Rangers and St Annes wanted the win and there was not much between the two sides in terms of effort and possession of the ball. About
half way through the second half St Annes launched an attack on the Rangers goal and one of the StAnnes players went down in front of the Rangers goal mouth, the referee deemed that the player was fouled and a penalty was
awarded against Rangers. The penalty was taken from what seemed an unusually short distance from the goal but the resulting shot was stopped in its tracks by keeper George. Unfortunately George was not able to secure such a
hard hit shot in his grasp and the ball bounced back out to a waiting St Annes player who was able to tap the ball home to give St Annes their second goal of the match. Rangers 1 - St Annes 2.
Rangers kicked off again and I think it would be fair to say that the game could of still gone either way at this stage but play continued up to the final whistle with Rangers unable to score an equaliser. Rangers 1 - St Annes 2.
Whilst not the final score Rangers would of liked, the game was well fought by both sides and entertaining to watch.
Good stuff boys, keep training and putting in lots of effort and better luck next time.
Final score: Rangers 1 - St Annes 2.
Fortunately both Rangers teams combined were able to claim an aggregate win
for their mornings work so - job done !
Blackpool Rangers Vs Fleetwood Gym (1st match) 12.December.2009
Team: Jacob M, Leon, Adam B, Thomas, Danny, George, Adam T.
Subs: Sam, Spencer.
After defeating Fleetwood in both matches only a week earlier, in theory this mornings two matches should have ended with similar results but as recent experiences have shown Rangers have played certain teams and won easily only to lose the rematch very soon after. This could only be down to complacency by Rangers players, thinking that little effort was required to achieve a similar win. Fortunately Rangers did not display any complacency but the results were different from the previous encounters between the two clubs teams.
The first half kicked off and from the outset the match quickly turned out to be a straight case of one team playing an attacking game and the other side playing a defensive game. On this occasion Rangers were the attacking team. Rangers launched attack after attack on the Fleetwood goal and despite managing to get the ball past every Fleetwood player defending the goal, Rangers could not get the ball past the goalkeeper. The Fleetwood goalkeeper gave one of the best displays of goalkeeping you could ever hope to see from some one of his age, stopping the ball in the air, on the ground and coming out to meet the Rangers forwards to snatch the ball from their feet when required, magnificent stuff to watch, well done to that man.
As the first half of the match progressed Rangers were putting in a great effort, which on any other day would have resulted in goals for sure. Virtually all of the play was well into the Fleetwood half of the pitch and at one stage it looked as if Rangers goalkeeper George(The one man wall)Simms could have quite easily slung a hammock across the Rangers goal mouth and had a snooze because he was seeing so little action.
The game continued in much the same fashion with no goals scored right up to whistle ending the first half and in all honesty I think players and spectators alike were wondering what was required to get the ball past the Fleetwood goalkeeper today.
The second half of the match kicked off and the state of play was much the same as in the first half, again a clear case of one team playing an attacking game and the other playing a defensive game. Still, all attempts by Rangers on the Fleetwood goals were thwarted by their "on fire" goalkeeper. Well into the second half Adam T made yet another attack on the Fleetwood goal, the goalkeeper came far out of his net to meet him and then the Fleetwood goalkeeper made his only serious mistake of the match when he landed a dangerous two footed tackle on Adam T who was grounded by the tackle and left in some pain. Without hesitation the referee pointed to the spot to give Rangers a penalty. Could this be the break Rangers needed to actually get the ball past the upto now, infallible Fleetwood goalkeeper ?
Danny was elected to take the penalty and he struck the ball soundly to the lower left hand corner of the net. On any other day the shot would have resulted in a goal for sure but to most peoples amazement the goalkeeper made a great dive, met the ball and secured it in his grasp ! Nothing but nothing was going past this guy today.
At this stage Rangers seemed resigned to the fact that getting a ball past the Fleetwood goalkeeper today was going to be very difficult, he had stopped everything including a penalty by one of Rangers hardest hitting players. Time was running out at this stage but Rangers were still playing well and not really doing anything wrong. Eventually persistence paid off when Danny saw an opening and made a quick run straight up the middle deep into the Fleetwood half. He steadied and then let off a squarely struck shot which went right into the back of the net. Wow, what a relief, Rangers 1 - Fleetwood 0 !!!
The game kicked off again but the final whistle blew quite soon to bring proceedings to an end. A great win that took some doing but the hard work and persistence paid off.
A totally different result to the match the previous weekend but a win is a win which ever way you cut it. Job done !
Well played boys you got there in the end because you never gave up. You did not do much wrong at all today, it is just the way the cookie crumbles.
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 1 - Fleetwood 0.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Fleetwood Gym (2nd Match) 12.December.2009
Team: Ben, Will, Robert, Johnny, Jack, Jacob H, Jacob C.
Subs: Liam, Matt, Ed.
The second match of the morning kicked off and after a short warming up period Rangers got into their stride and more or less took control of the game. It was not long before the first goal came when Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking made an excellent pass to Big Ben Smith who was nicely placed well up towards the Fleetwood goal, Ben made good use of the ball and made a sound shot into the Fleetwood net. It was good to see such a quick goal on the scorecard and it raised hopes that this match, with luck, was not going to be a replay of the first match where goals proved hard to come by. Rangers 1 - Fleetwood 0 !
Play continued with Rangers in control of the game and any attacks by Fleetwood on the Rangers goal were countered buy the midfield and defending players. The second goal came courtesy of Johnny who made an excellent run centrally through the Fleetwood midfield and then he let go a worthy shot which hammered the ball into the Fleetwood goal net to bring Rangers into a more comfortable 2 - 0 lead. Things were beginning to look interesting !
Fleetwood kicked off and soon again Rangers had things under control, constantly moving the ball into the Fleetwood half of the pitch and letting shots go when ever possible. It was only a matter of time before a third goal came and sure as eggs, bang, Johnny did the business with another of his powerful shots sending the ball past the Fleetwood keeper. Rangers 3 - Fleetwood 0 at this stage and it was a good feeling to see the goals coming after the struggle of the first match.
Very soon after Fleetwood kicked off again the whistle came to end the first half and for obvious reasons Rangers were outwardly happy as they gathered together for the half time team talk.
After the break, the second half kicked off and Rangers looked a very confident team, able to relax in the knowledge that they were three - nil ahead with plenty left in the tank.
The fourth goal came after Liam, who had come on for the second half of the game, made a great attacking move, taking on and dribbling the ball past two or three Fleetwood players until he was well up towards the Fleetwood goal where he kicked the ball into the top left hand corner of the net leaving the Fleetwood goal keeper no chance of a save. A great goal, bringing the score to Rangers 4 - Fleetwood 0 .
It would be fair to say that Rangers appeared confident in their ability to win this match and providing complacency did not slip in to the equation I think all concerned would have agreed at this stage.
The match kicked off again for the 6th time and it was obvious to see that Rangers were playing with a relaxed attitude towards the game. The comfortable lead Rangers had at this stage seemed to encourage the
confidence of the whole team to just keep on growing, but at no stage could they be accused of being nonchalant in any way. Every player had and was doing every thing expected of him and in short the whole side were playing like one well oiled machine, lovely stuff.
The goals seemed to be coming more easily now and next on the score card once again was Big Ben Smith who claimed his second goal of the game with another well taken shot. Rangers 5 - Fleetwood 0.
Rangers were on a roll now and soon another determined attack by Rangers was made on the Fleetwood goal. Moving in an almost military fashion, the Rangers forwards moved the ball forwards with the midfielders behind them to provide back up. Johnny dribbled the ball well up to the Fleetwood goal mouth and in a somewhat almost gentlemanly fashion, he passed the ball sideways to Jacob H who made no mistake and tapped the ball firmly home to claim his first ever goal for Rangers and also bringing the score for the match up to Rangers 6 - Fleetwood 0.
As the final minutes of the game approached and for Fleetwood I'm sure the sooner the whistle sounded to end the match the better, one last final goal came when Jacob(The Wotsit)Cheeseman made a nice shot at goal which found its target. With Rangers now in an unbeatable 7 - 0 lead the whistle sounded and the joy of the Rangers players was apparent for all to see and a well dissevered cheer sounded.
The whole team had did a great job today from Rob(Big Cat)Moody back in nets to the lads at the front. No one could ask any thing more lads, a good job well done with some intelligent and selfless team play apparent. Once again the ability to pass the ball accurately to one another and then shoot for goal when the opportunity arose proved to be the winning factor. Keep up the good work boys.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Fleetwood Gym (1st match) 5/December/2009
Team: Lee, Will, Johnny, Jacob C, Jack, Ben, Robert.
Subs: Sam, Spencer, Jakob H.
After struggling to find a playable pitch due to the recent wet weather, the match kicked off at Norbreck on a surprisingly sunny morning. Almost from the off Rangers began to look the dominating side. Rangers midfield were
doing a good job and sending the ball up front to the forwards who were battling well and slowly but surely beginning to chip away at Fleetwood's defence.
Johnny(The Cannon)Hocking and Big Ben Smith looked well up for it today. Johnny was launching off some long powerful shots at the Fleetwood goal and it seemed only a matter of time before the ball would find the Fleetwood
net. Ben was giving a good account of himself and was displaying some great ball skills as he often does, turning the ball from one direction to another with his feet and leaving the opposition floundering at times, good stuff to
watch and well done Ben !
Fleetwood did try and attack the Rangers goal but their attempts were met by a pretty sound defence and of course, the rock steady and consistent Robert (Big Cat) Moody in goal. Robert dealt with every thing that came his way in his usual, calm and business like style.
Play continued with Rangers were keeping up the pressure on the Fleetwood goal. The pressure began to open some cracks in the Fleetwood defence and Will found himself well up front in possession of the ball, he saw an
opportunity and managed a nice pass to Johnny, who was able to slot the ball into the net with a solid kick to get the first goal on the score card, Rangers 1 - Fleetwood 0.
The game kicked off again and Rangers continued to be the dominating force. Surely it would only be a matter of time before Rangers scored another goal. The goal came courtesy of Johnny again, Johnny made an excellent attack on the Fleetwood goal and with a fine display of his dribbling skills, he took the ball through several defending Fleetwood players and finished the job with a great, soundly struck kick.Rangers 2 - Fleetwood 0 !
Play continued up to the first half whistle with no further goals scored but I think it would be fair to say that Rangers were firmly in control of the game and team spirits were very positive at this point.
The second half of the match kicked off and despite Rangers lead and growing confidence the battle was not over. Out of the blue Fleetwood were awarded a free kick. The Fleetwood player who took the kick, hit the ball with some determination and the ball moved powerfully and high towards the Rangers goal. The ball hit the cross bar of the Rangers net and there was a audible sigh of relief as the ball glanced up and over the goal. Had lady luck been
smiling on Fleetwood today they could of been back in the game but alas it was not to be and the score remained the same.
Rangers soon got over the near miss and it was not long before Rangers third goal of the match came after a lovely three player manoeuvre when Johnny made a nice pass to Sam who passed the ball onto Spencer who did the business and kicked the ball into the net. A fine example of the devastating effectiveness of accurate and intelligent passing.
At this stage of the game Rangers were comfortable in their lead and although no more goals were scored by Rangers, Fleetwood did not really seem to have any thing in their armoury to alter the final out come of the match.
The final whistle blew to give a satisfying win for Rangers with the final score remaining at Rangers 3 - Fleetwood 0.
Well done Rangers, a good win and every man earned his corn today with a great effort by you all, be proud of your selves.
Keep listening to your coaches, communicate with each other and PASS-PASS-PASS- SHOOT-SHOOT-SHOOT !
Final score Rangers 3 - Fleetwood 0.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Fleetwood Gym (2nd Match) 5.December.2009
Team: Danny, Jacob M, Adam B, Thomas, Adam T, George, Leon.
Subs: Ed, Liam, Matty
As the second match of the morning kicked off, Rangers players and supporters alike were in good spirits after the excellent win in the first match. It was not long before Rangers began to take control of the game with
the whole team firing on all cylinders.Very soon the big boys at the front began to get into top gear and very
quickly Adam T and Danny were utilising any balls that came their way via the midfielders. First goal came after Adam T made a run up towards the Fleetwood goal with Danny in hot pursuit. Danny got into a good position to
receive a pass from Adam T and when the ball came his way he made good use of it and kicked the ball firmly into the Fleetwood net. Great start Rangers 1 - Fleetwood 0 !
Lucky start or was this a taste of more to come ? The answer came very quickly when Danny tackled the ball from a Fleetwood defender and converted his possession into another goal with a great kick, Rangers 2 - Fleetwood 0
! As the first half continued Rangers dominated the game with Fleetwood still able to muster the odd attack on the Rangers goal. Unfortunately for Fleetwood none of their attempts were successful with Rangers defence and
George( The one man wall)Simms taking care of anything that threatened the Rangers goal.
As the first half neared to an end Rangers put together another determined attack on the Fleetwood goal and with a very near repeat of the first goal of the game Adam made a sweet pass to Danny again who did a good job an
whacked the ball soundly into the Fleetwood net again, Rangers 3 - Fleetwood 0. As the whistle to end the first half sounded, Rangers were able to have their half time team talk in the knowledge that they were in an excellent
position.
The second half of the match started and it would be fair to that Rangers were looking very confident about the game but "it ain't over till the fat lady sings" as the saying goes and Rangers did not appear to be complacent
about their leading position.
Back to business it was and soon again Adam T decided it was his turn to get his name on the score card, which he did in good style when again Rangers were again able to move the ball up to the Fleetwood end with some more great team play and Adam T cashed in with a great, on target kick. Rangers 4 - Fleetwood 0. !!
Fleetwood did not appear to have any answers to what was happening but to their credit they did not seem to loose their composure or show any outward signs of frustration. Good sportsmanship comes to mind.
Play progressed and Rangers were cruising in a sense, with all the team showing growing confidence as time went on. Rangers were beginning to relax and enjoy the game more. Now Danny decided that a hat trick was not enough goals in one match and he was able to claim his fourth goal after receiving another great pass from Adam T which he again kicked into the back of the net with no hesitation. Rangers 5 - Fleetwood 0 !!!
Play continued and very soon Rangers 6th goal came after a great kick by Jacob M, which once again went soundly into the Fleetwood net. Rangers 6 - Fleetwood 0 !!!!
I think at this stage of play Fleetwood must have wondered what they could do to stop the growing tally of goals scored against them by Rangers. You could not help but feel some sympathy for them, when, as if to add insult to
injury Rangers 7th goal came as the Fleetwood goal keeper stopped a shot by a Rangers player with a kick which hit Leon and then bounced back into the Fleetwood net to give Rangers their 7th goal of the match and Leon his first goal of the game. Lady luck was not smiling on Fleetwood today and as the final whistle blew Fleetwood must of felt a sense of relief that the game had come to an end.
Well done to all the Rangers players, every man worth his salt again today.Keep up the good team work, it must be becoming more and more obvious to all the team what can be achieved by sustained and accurate passing. Passing demolishes opposing teams defences and creates opportunities for shots at goal.
Final score Rangers 7 - Fleetwood 0.

Blackpool Rangers Vs Poulton Town (1st Match) 14.November.2009
Team: George, Adam T, Spencer, Thomas, Adam B, Jacob M, Leon.
Subs: Liam, Jacob H.
On a wet and windy morning the first half kicked off and from the start the game appeared to be a fairly evenly matched affair. As the first half progressed Rangers seemed to be gaining an edge with Leon, Thomas and
Spencer putting some good moves together and once again passing was proving to be key in keeping possession of the ball, which in turn results in chances at shots at goal. It was not a one sided game by any means and
Poulton were always a danger, they were able to put together a good few attacks on the Rangers goal.
The defence looked solid with Thomas and Adam dealing with Poulton attacks with real determination and with George behind them in goal continuing his good form for the season with a series of good saves.
The first half continued with some good football from both sides, Rangers were still holding an edge when the end of the first half came but frustratingly they couldn't get the ball into the Poulton net to open their account before the whistle came.
With wind and rain still apparent, the second half kicked off and play continued in much the same vain as the first with again, some good football from both sides and George still solid in goal. As the last five minutes of the game approached Rangers seemed to find new energy and shots began to be launched off with more regularity, could Rangers do it ? The Poulton goal was being put under increasing pressure and eventually
their defence’s slipped when Jacob M made a cross which travelled across the Poulton goal mouth area, one of Poulton's players made an attempt to clear the ball and on making contact the ball was deflected in the wrong direction and went in to the net for an own goal. A goal is a goal and Rangers went one nil up !
The final whistle came with no further goals scored, not an ideal way to win a match but a win is a win which ever way you cut it. Many spectators agreed that the pressure Rangers exerted in the later stages of the game played a
part in the mistake by the Poulton defence and the resulting own goal.
Well done every man in the team, a good game and a good result.
REMEMBER LADS - Communicate - Pass - Pass - Pass and don't be shy, shoot -
lads - shoot !
Blackpool Rangers Vs Poulton Town (2nd Match) 14/November/2009
Team: Robert, Johnny, Jacob C, Lee, Jack, Will, Sam.
Subs: Matt, Ed, Ben S
With weather conditions much the same, the second team match kicked off and from the start Rangers more or less took control of the game. It was not long into the game before Will made a determined run up the left wing and
then took the ball confidently towards the Poulton goal mouth. Will then put the ball into the back of the Poulton net with a well placed shot. Whilst not the most powerful of shots the accuracy of the shot did the business.
Great start Rangers 1 - Poulton Town 0 !
With a sense of great expectation in the air, Rangers settled in to some good team play. After a series of passes Jacob(Wotsit)Cheeseman made a well placed pass to up front to Will who was able to place the ball into the
Poulton goal again with another nice tap. Will is showing great form currently and is proving to be a formidable and prolific goal scorer, whilst not of the greatest stature Will is very skilled at scoring goals with an accurate and some times quite delicate touch, clever stuff, Rangers 2 - Poulton 0 !
Poulton were not a spent force by any means Luckily for Rangers and very un-luckily for Poulton, Robert(Big Cat)Moody was keeping goal for Rangers and "keeper of the goal" he was in the truest sense of the word. Poulton must of wondered what they had to do to get the ball past him, any thing that came his way he stopped, high shots, low shots and he bravely went to ground when the situation demanded it taking the ball from players feet on occasion. Roberts efforts did not go un-noticed on the day and he was awarded with "star player" status at the end of the match. Great stuff Robert well done !
Rangers continued playing some quality football and is was not long before Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking opened his account when he dribbled the ball past through the Poulton defence and finished the move with a nice tap which sent the ball cleanly into the Poulton goal net, to bring the score to comforting Rangers 3 - Poulton 0 !
Poulton kicked off again and quite quickly Rangers had the ball in their control. Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking soon found himself in position to shoot for goal, which he did with some conviction as he let go a powerful, long
shot which sailed into the Poulton net to give Jonny his second goal of the match, Rangers 4 - Poulton 0. At this stage of the game I think it would be fair to say that Rangers could almost score at will, but to their credit Poulton showed no outward signs of folding and always maintained a sporting attitude to their play.
Poulton kicked off once again and tried to find their way back into the match but Rangers were not going to give an inch today and it was not long before a well fired up Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking was front of goal again eager for another goal. Jonny did the business again with another solid shot, which found the ball in the back of the Poulton goal net again to give Jonny a hat trick and at the same time bringing Rangers into a 5 - Nil lead.
Poulton did not seem have any reply to offer at this stage of the game and in all fairness Rangers were beginning to look more or less unbeatable and before the relief of the second half whistle came for Poulton, Will was able
to send the ball into the Poulton net again to claim himself a hat trick to match Jonny's hat trick. The first half ended with Rangers on a high with a 6 - nil lead on the score card. Good stuff, especially if you were a Rangers
supporter !
The second half of the matched kicked off and Rangers had altered their team by utilising some of their subs and the game continued in more relaxed manner from Rangers point of view with the urgency to get goals on the
scorecard not quite as prevalent. Some good, enjoyable football was played as the second half continued with Rangers obviously enjoying their well earned lead and a more relaxed atmosphere was apparent, Will had not had his fill for the day and after being fed a great pass by Jonny(The Cannon)Hocking Will sent the ball into the Poulton net for his fourth goal of the game to bring the final score at the closing whistle to Rangers 7- Poulton 0 !
Well done Rangers, a great display of solid team work from Robert in goal, to Will right at the front and every man in between andagain, a fine display of accurate and sustained passing, combined with a mixture of both powerful and intelligent goal scoring. A formula which is proving to be a deadly mix at this stage of the season.
Well done boys keep it up !
Final score - Blackpool Rangers 7 - Poulton Town 0
Blackpool Rangers Vs Kirkham Juniors (1st Match) 24/October/2009
Team: Leon, Liam, Matthew, Thomas, Adam T, Ben S, George.
Sub: Jacob C.
On a cold, windy and rainy morning, the first half of the match kicked off. Despite the harsh weather conditions, after a little settling in both sides got stuck into the game with both Rangers and Kirkham gaining roughly equal
possession of the ball. As play progressed, Rangers started to put together some good, structured team play, the midfield were doing a great job of feeding the ball up front where Leon, Adam T and Thomas were beginning to
put some good moves together and handy crosses were coming in from the wings to threaten the Kirkham goal. It seemed only a matter of time before Rangers would score.
About halfway into the first half Big Ben Smith saw an opportunity and took the ball well up on the wing, Ben looked for his man and was able to make an accurate cross to a nicely positioned Leon who was front of goal, Leon struck the ball sweetly into the back of the Kirkham net to put Rangers into a one goal lead.
The game was not a one sided affair by any means and Kirkham were always dangerous. Kirkham had some capable players who at times were letting go some hard on-target shots at the Rangers net. Fortunately for Rangers George (The One Man Wall) Simms was "keeper of the goal" again today and what a great job he did. George stopped several powerful, on target shots with his hands and made it look easy and what is equally important was that when he stopped the shots he quickly scooped up the ball into his arms and made the
ball safe. So often some great saves are made by goal keepers only for the ball to bounce uncontrolled from the keepers hands resulting in the ball being tapped over the line by the attacking players, the "gather" of the
ball after the shot is an equally important part of the "save". George is showing great skill as he gains experience, in his ability to stop and secure the ball efficiently, well done George !
Play continued in much the same manner up to the end of the first half with no further goals scored Rangers 1 - Kirkham 0 !
The second half of the match kicked off and Rangers spirits were high despite the bad conditions. Again as in the first half it seemed a relatively well matched battle, although Rangers appeared to have an edge some how. Out of the blue a Kirkham winger made a fast run up the up the left hand wing with Thomas in quick pursuit. Thomas showed great skill and determination as he caught up with the winger and then made a superb sliding tackle and blocked the cross into the Rangers goal area. Thomas played the ball not the man, as per the book, what a tackle and what determination !
The tussle continued on for some time and as the end of the game drew closer it appeared that Rangers had the game in the bag as they had up to now, been able to fend off all of Kirkhams attacks. Unfortunately for Rangers, Kirkham managed to find a way through the Rangers defence and launched off a shot at the Rangers goal. The ball evaded Georges grasp and went into net to make the equalising goal. Rangers 1 - Kirkham 1 .
In the closing stages, the game could of gone either way but no further goals were scored as the final whistle sounded.
Well done Rangers, an entertaining game played in harsh conditions. A worthy effort by every one.
Don't forget boys - COMMUNICATE - PASS - SHOOT !
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 1 - Kirkham Juniors 1
Blackpool Rangers Vs Kirkham Juniors (2nd Match) 24/October/2009
Team: Jacob M, Jonny, Sam, Lee, Will, Robert, Jack,
Subs: Adam B, Danny, Eddy.
Well, what can you say ! "where there's a Will there's a way" .
After the hard fought draw of the first match no one really new what the
result of the 2nd match would be.
As the first half kicked off, the rain had started to subside do a degree and after a short while it looked as if the game was going to be another evenly matched contest. Both teams were making a good job of attacking and
countering each other when suddenly Jonny(Big Gun) Hocking made a run up the wing, he then kicked an excellent cross over to Will who was positioned front of goal, Will then made a sound job of kicking the ball into the back of the Kirkham net and the first goal of the match for Rangers was on the scorecard. Hopes were high - Rangers 1 - Kirkham 0.
Kirkham kicked off and play continued again, Rangers were putting together some good moves and producing some good shots but non were finding the net at this stage. Kirkham then made a break for the Rangers goal and one of their forwards made a shot which found the net for an equalising goal, Rangers 1- Kirkham 1. Play continued in much the same manner with no further goals being scored and with a feeling that this was going to be a repeat of the first match of the day, the whistle ending the second half of the game sounded.
The second half kicked off and for some reason Rangers soon began to look like an all altogether different side. Rangers began to pass the ball around between each other with accuracy and it was not long before it started to
pay off and again it was Jonny( Big Gun) Hocking who made another excellent cross again to Will who, in an almost identical goal to the first one, again planted the ball in the back of the Kirkham net. Rangers 2 - Kirkham 1 !
This goal seemed to raise the confidence of the Rangers team and they looked as if they were relaxed and beginning to enjoy the game.Rangers were starting to "gel" and it was not long before Sam found himself
in position to knock home a nice shot to bring Rangers into a 3- 1 lead. At this stage of the game I think it would be fair to say that Rangers had taken control of the match and expectations were high. Rangers 3 - Kirkham
1.
Kirkham kicked off again and after a short time Jonny(Big Gun) Hocking was able to launch off a big shot not far from the halfway line, the shot carried great power and found the back of the Kirkham goal. The power and
accuracy of Jonny's shots can be devastating at times and as this goal brought Rangers into a 4 - 1 lead and it looked like Kirkham were beginning to run out of answers. To Kirkhams credit it was noticed by several
spectators that their players did not seem to show any outward signs of being dis-heartened by the big lead Rangers now had and they kept to the task. Rangers 4 - Kirkham 1 !
Again kirkham kicked off and at this stage I think they must have been wondering what Rangers little forward (Will) must have had for breakfast. I think he must have had an extra shredded wheat or two today, what ever he
had it was doing the trick and it was not long before, yes, Jonny managed another great cross to an eagerly and nicely positioned, front of goal Will. Again Will did the business with another nice touch that saw the ball make
the Kirkham net again. Rangers 5 - Kirkham 1 !
At this stage a lot of loosing teams could of completely folded but again and to their credit Kirkham made a break for the Rangers net and a good kick found the ball in the Rangers net to bring the score back to Rangers 5 -
Kirkham 2, Kirkham were not a spent force yet and they showed that what ever the score in a match, any team can get punished for complacency.
With the closing stages of the game approaching it was obvious that Rangers more or less had the game in the bag and but they weren't satisfied yet and the consistent Mr Mullen made a lovely cross to yes - you guessed it, Will, who again with relative ease, placed the ball in the net with a nice touch. Rangers 6- Kirkham 2 ! Come on Will a hat trick - Ok, but four goals that's being greedy ! Good on ya.
The final whistle came with a great cheer and the feelings of all the Rangers players and spectators alike was plain to see. A very good game to watch and a perfect example of what good quality team play is all about.
This match proved what accurate and sustained passing can achieve and how it can rip up the defences of your opponents in a devastating manner. It also helps if you have a little guy at the front with an accurate touch who is
able to convert crosses into goals as well !
A great team effort all round with Will and Sam taking the star players shirts today, but had a pair of scissors been on hand the shirts could of
been cut up as every one deserved a piece today.
Final Score: Blackpool Rangers 6 - Kirkham Juniors 2.
Star players: Will, Sam.
Blackpool Rangers Vs FC Rangers (1st Match) 17/October/2009
Team: Jacob C, Johnny, Jacob H, Jacob M, Danny, Adam B, Robert.
Subs: Liam, Will, Jack.
The game kicked off on a fine still morning and with in a short time it was apparent that the match was not going to be the easy win some of the Blackpool Rangers players thought it was going to be.
Blackpool Rangers launched a good few attacks only to be thwarted by FC's defence and as play progressed FC were having an equal share of the ball and attacking the Rangers goal in return. It appeared that Rangers had not expected the level of play by FC to be as good as it was. Johnny (The Cannon) Hocking was launching off some big shots at the FC goal as he so often does, but unluckily and frustratingly none made it into the net.
The unexpected pressure by FC seemed to be unsettling Blackpool Rangers and a sense of panic was effecting their play. On more than one occasion Rangers players were taking wild kicks at the ball with out controlling it first, resulting in many players ending up kicking the air.
Well into the first half of the match, FC sent the ball towards the Blackpool Rangers net, the ball passed a few Players with out being stopped and suddenly the ball was yards from the goal mouth. Players from both teams frantically tried to gain possession of the ball in a scramble, FC managed to make contact and the ball rolled towards the Blackpool Rangers net and was finally knocked over the line with a tap by an FC player. Not a spectacular goal by any means but a goal is a goal and I think it would be fair to say it came as a shock to most to find Blackpool Rangers 1 -0 down as the fist half whistle came.
The second half of the match kicked off and play continued in much the same manner with FC giving a good account of themselves however the Blackpool Rangers did not seem to be able to make any headway and score an equalising goal and it came as a great dis-appointment when FC scored another goal with a kick by one of their forwards which put them into a 2 - 0 lead.
By now Blackpool Rangers players seemed to have lost heart and heads were low. The match continued in much the same vain until the final whistle came with no further goals being scored.
The loss of the match was a shock in some ways as some of Blackpool Rangers players seemed to expect a much easier game due to FC's current league position. It just goes to show that there is no room for complacency in any game you play and no match is a done deal, as they say "it ain't over till its over". If you learn by your mis-takes all is not lost. Next time boys - next time !
Full credit to the FC Rangers boys, the way they hugged and cheered each other at the end just showed the passion and desire they all had to win the game. Well deserved!!
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 0 - FC Rangers 2
Blackpool Rangers Vs FC Rangers (2nd Match) 17/October/2009
Team: Matt, Leon, Adam T, Thomas, Ben S, Lee, George.
Subs: Sam, Edward, Spencer.
The game kicked off and following the disappointing result of the first match of the day Blackpool Rangers really needed to win this one. After a short period of time it was apparent that both sides were quite evenly matched. Blackpool Rangers players Leon, Thomas and Adam T, were firing off quite a few big shots at FC Rangers goal but were unable to find the net unfortunately.
As time went on it seemed that Blackpool Rangers were emerging as the slightly stronger side but again and frustratingly the ball would just not make the net. Any attacks on the Blackpool Rangers goal were met by a solid
defence in the shape of Matt and Lee who, combined with goal keeper George (The One man wall) Simms, were able to fend off all of FC attempts at the Blackpool Rangers net.
Matthew in particular, put in a great effort today, his efforts did not go un-noticed and he was awarded with a well earned "Star Player" kit at the end of the game, well done Matthew. Matthew is a solid and dependable team
member who goes about his "work" without fuss and with great modesty and I think it would be fair to describe him as a "cornerstone" of the team, good on you Matthew, keep it up.
The first half continued up to the whistle with neither side able to open their account and get a goal on the score card.
The second half kicked off and I think most people thought that the game would probably end in a draw, Blackpool Rangers always seemed to just have an edge but could not capitalise on it. The battle continued well into the
second half when Blackpool Rangers were awarded a throw-in well up on the left hand wing. Adam T saw an opportunity and quickly took the throw-in which went straight to Leon who had positioned himself near to FC Rangers goal. Leon was able to control the ball and take a good shot which found the back of the FC net to the relief of both the Rangers players and spectators alike. Phew ! Blackpool Rangers 1 - FC Rangers 0.
A win was within Rangers grasp now and all that was needed was to hold off any attacks by FC for the remaining minutes. Rangers did just that and when the final whistle came a sense of relief came with it. One win to each club,
could of been better, could of been worse.
Well done Blackpool Rangers, a good team effort where persistence paid off. Keep it up boys and don't forget PASS-PASS-PASS !
Final score Blackpool Rangers 1 - FC Rangers 0

Blackpool Rangers Vs AFC Blackpool (1st Match) 10/October/2009
Team: Lee, Leon, Thomas, Adam T, Matt, Robert, Ben S.
Subs: Liam, Jacob Ch, Will.
On a pleasant morning the game kicked off and after the normal settling in period it soon became apparent that Rangers were the better team. From the outset Rangers seemed to be passing the ball between each other with
increasing confidence and accuracy. Rangers defence was sound as was goal keeping by Robert(The Cat) Moody. It was not long into the first half when the first goal came as a result of an excellent chain of passes via Lee to Leon to Thomas who was able to plant the ball into the back of the net with a well struck kick, Rangers 1 - AFC O, great stuff !
The game kicked off again and Rangers seemed to have an aire of confidence about them now. Rangers continued to play displaying some solid team work and were keeping up the pressure on AFC, when with persistence, the pressure opened up another crack in the AFC defence and Thomas was able to make a
nice cross to Leon who did the business and cracked the ball into the back of the AFC net again to put Rangers into a comfortable 2 - 0 lead. At this stage it seemed like winning the match was going to be a straight forward
task but AFC some how were able to shift up a gear and out of the blue one of their forwards managed to make a break for the Rangers goal and kicked the ball into the net to bring the score to Rangers 2 - AFC 1 .
AFC seemed to gather new enthusiasm with their goal and as the whistle came to end the first half it seemed that the battle was won but the war was definitely not over.
The second half of the match kicked off and both Rangers and AFC had still to settle the argument, fortunately Rangers took control of the match again and after a short time Ben S found himself with a chance at the AFC goal.
Ben let go a nice well aimed shot that found the AFC net and put Rangers into a comforting 3 - 1 position. The match continued and with Rangers keeping up the pressure and despite some great play for the rest of the
second half, the score remained at Rangers 3 - AFC 1 when the final whistle blew.
An absolutely superb team effort which produced an entertaining match to watch. What is very apparent is that every person in the team including the subs, are very capable players and all the team down to a man can hold their own on the pitch and could give a good account of them selves against any team in the league.
Well done boys keep up with the training, listen to the coaches and PASS - PASS - PASS - SHOOT !
Final score Rangers 3 - AFC Blackpool 1
Match 2
Team: Johnny, Danny, Adam B, Jacob H, Jacob M, Jack, George,
Subs: Edward, Sam, Spencer.
After the excellent win over AFC in the first match of the day expectations were high and a second win seemed an achievable target. The game kicked off and from the outset both teams seemed quite evenly matched. Rangers and AFC attacked and counter attacked as the first half progressed.
Eventually Rangers began to make some headway and more and the ball was more often in the AFC half of the pitch. Johnny, Jacob M and Danny began to swing the ball around to each other and there was a feeling that it was only a matter of time before the ball found the AFC net. As Rangers took control of the game AFC started to show signs of frustration which resulted in some hard tackles on the Rangers forwards. To their credit the Rangers players kept their cool and stuck to the task in hand. Rangers patience eventually paid off and Johnny was able to place a nice shot into the AFC net to put Rangers into a one goal lead, Rangers 1 - AFC 0. The game continued for the rest of the first half in much the same fashion with Rangers doing most of the work, it just seemed that bad luck was more to blame than a lack of effort on Rangers behalf, that no more goals were scored before the first half whistle came. Rangers 1 - AFC 0.
Play continued in the second half and after keeping up the pressure and playing some good football, AFC managed a crack at the Rangers goal, a looping shot found the ball in the back of the Rangers net for an equaliser. Rangers 1 - AFC 1.
The equalising goal by AFC appeared to make Rangers step up a gear and Rangers played on with some quality passing and shooting taking place, a goal was surely pending now. Johnny made a break and advanced on the AFC net. As he got into the penalty area he was quickly met by a strong tackle which brought him down and left him hurt, to every one's relief the referee made an instant and decision and awarded Rangers a penalty. Johnny elected to take the penalty, which he struck with some power clean into the back of the AFC net. There was no hiding his sense of relief and satisfaction at being awarded the penalty and then converting it to a goal. Rangers 2 - AFC 1.
The game continued up to the final whistle, with AFC still pressing hard for the equaliser. Rangers held firm until the whistle sounded, having ridden out the storm and emerging with their heads high.
Well done boys, a good game well fought and well won. You kept your cool under some pressure by AFC and it paid off. Remember PASS - PASS - PASS and SHOOOOT !
Final score Rangers 2 - AFC Blackpool 1
Star Players: Thomas, Johnny and Big Ben Smith.
St Anne's V Blackpool Rangers 3/10/09
Match 1
Team: Robert, Adam B, Jakob H, Johnny, Jacob M, Jack, Spencer
Subs: Edward, Dan & Sam
This was always going to be a tuff fixture for us against a well organised St Anne’s side who have started the season in fantastic form. To make matters worse the weather was awful with a strong wind blowing down the pitch. Captain for the day Johnny won the toss and as instructed played with the wind. Both teams were very evenly matched, with each side trying to get the ball on the floor and play football. We picked up possession in the middle of the field, Spencer called for it at his feet and received a pin point pass, in one movement he turned his man and drilled the ball past the keepers left to give us a 1-0 lead. Minutes later our solid looking defence lost concentration and pushed a little to far forward, a great pass from St Annes found their forward clean through on goal but Robert came out fast and saved well to clear the danger (Top Stuff). We continued to press forward and forced a free kick just outside the box on the left hand side (Perfect for Johnny’s right foot) up he stepped and smashed it past the keeper 2-0. Half time.
The second half, as expected, was quite different with St Annes now having the wind they pressed and pressed but we continued to stay solid. Dan & Sam came on and did a fine job for the team. As the game went on we changed the formation to try and relieve some pressure. We put 3 at the back with 3 in midfield, Edward coming on for the hard working debutant Dan to play in defence. It worked well and gave us real stability. Final score 2-0.
Special mention to Adam Bowker who had a great game at the back with Jakob, he made a terrific header off the line when there were still 10 minutes remaining. It’s a real contender for header of the season, Well done!!
Fantastic effort today boys a very well earned win.
Star Player: Johnny
Match 2
Team: George, Thomas M, Lee, Adam T, Leon, Ben S, Will
Subs: Mathew & Jacob C.
Again awful conditions, but again the captain won the toss and we were with the wind first half. Sadly in this game we took a while to get going and St Annes dominated the early possession, lucky for us Thomas Miller and Lee were in good form at the back and stopped most things that came at them, George in goal’s made some good stops as well as we continued to soak up pressure. Half Time 0-0.
The second half started much the same as the first, however this time St Annes had the wind. We made some changes at the break with disappointed Ben and Leon making way for Mathew and another debutant Jacob Cheesman. We changed to 3 at the back and 3 in midfield but although we looked solid we were not keeping possession and pushing forward. Will took a knock to his knee and was forced off through injury, an eager Leon came on up front and we resorted back to 2-3-1 to try and grab a goal and play a bit higher up the pitch. Sadly at first it looked like it had backfired as we were caught a little square at the back and the St Anees striker ran through one on one with George and finished clinically to his right. It seemed like the game might be over as we had created little in the way of scoring opportunities. But their goal seemed to inspire us…Leon picked the ball up in the centre of the pitch and slotted a great ball through to Adam T, he dribbled forward and shot, the keeper made a great save but Adam wasn’t done and he lunged forward and knocked it in to make it 1-1, the minutes ticked down and it looked like a draw was on the cards, but Leon again picked the ball up and slotted it through to Thomas who ran from the half way line, he was one on one with the keeper, kept his cool and slotted the ball into the bottom corner 1-2 to us!!!!!!!! Talk about get out of jail !! we finished the game in outstanding style, but full credit should go to St Annes who were excellent and deserved more from the game.
Star Player Thomas and Leon (Excellent)
Blackpool Rangers Vs Warton Typhoons (1st Match) 19th/September/2009
Team: Robert, Will, Liam, Jack, Jacob H, Jonny, Adam B.
Subs: Ben S
On a still and pleasant morning the game kicked off at Warton's home ground and after the usual warm up both teams seemed quite evenly matched and well up for the game. Some good football was played by both teams attacking, defending and counter attacking as things progressed, with Robert(The Cat)Moody repelling any thing which made its way past the Rangers defence towards the goal.
Adam B was in good form this morning and gave a good account of himself, dam put in a great effort, as is usual of late and he is turning out to be a very proficient and brave header of the ball, well done Adam.
The first half continued and Rangers seemed to be making some headway. Rangers were beginning to put together some more sustained attacks on the Warton goal with the midfield feeding balls up the wings to the forwards. It seemed only a matter of time before Rangers would find the Warton net. Eventually with determination the goal came when Liam fed a nice accurate ball well up the right wing to Jonny, Jonny made a tidy cross which found Jack(The Giant Killer)Arliss, Jack managed to convert the pass into a goal with a nice kick which sailed sweetly into the back of the Warton goal net.
Rangers 1 - Warton 0 !
The first half continued with Rangers probably posing the greater threat to Warton than vice-versa. No further goals were score in the first half by the time the first half whistle blew.
The second half kicked off and both teams showed they still had plenty left in the tank, Warton were not defeated by any means at this stage of the game and continued to threaten Rangers lead. Conversely, Rangers seemed to be relaxed and enjoying their leading position but they did not become complacent, still launching attacks at the Warton goal and defending well when the need arose.
The final whistle came with the score unchanged with no further goals from either side.
Well done Rangers an excellent and well fought game with a deserved win. All the team put in a great performance. As is so often the case, the Rangers goal came about as a result of a string of quick and accurate passes. Just remember, Communicate - Pass - communicate - Pass - and don't be to polite about taking a shot for goal. If you find your self with-in range of the goal, wack that ball towards your opponents net, eventually the shots will find the target. Shots = Goals.
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 1 - Warton Typhoons 0.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Warton Typhoons (2nd Match) 19/September/2009
Team: George, Thomas, Leon, Spencer, Jacob M, Matthew, Lee.
Subs: Sam, Edward.
The first half kicked off and in a short time Rangers seemed to take control of the game. Rangers were putting together most of the attacking moves and had the greater possession of the ball. Rangers midfielders and forwards
were working well together and Spencer was beginning to make some good attempts at the Warton goal, it seemed only a matter of time until the ball would end up in the net. Any attacks made by Warton that got past the
Rangers midfield were met by a great defence in the shape of Matty and Lee, who seemed determined not to let much get by them today. Lee in particular played with great energy and enthusiasm today, his efforts did not go
un-noticed and he was rewarded with "Star Player" status at the end of the game.
Play continued and the first goal came courtesy of Spencer who made a looping header which went sailing over the Warton goal keeper outside of his grasp and landed nicely in the net. A tricky header that was well executed
and found its target, well done Spencer. Rangers 1 - Warton 0 !
The remainder of the first half was played out with Rangers still in charge and at the whistle the score remained un-changed.
The second half of the match kicked off and I think it would be fair to say that Rangers confidence was running high and a win seemed well within reach. The ball was being passed about amongst the Rangers players with relative ease and a second goal soon came and what a superb example of what skilled passing can achieve it was. Sam was well up on the left wing and he made a short pass to Thomas who quickly returned the ball with a nifty back heel, Sam then crossed the ball to Jacob M who took a shot at goal and sent the ball sweetly into the Warton net. Lovely stuff, Rangers 2 - Warton 0.
Warton by now, did not seem to have much by way of a reply and their team was quite fragmented due to a constant succession of substitutions by their manager. At one point Warton substituted four out of their seven man team in one go and from a spectators point of view the succession of substitutions did nothing to help their situation, but in fairness they did not seem to have any other options at their disposal. Play continued with Rangers well on top by now and making most if not all of the attacking play, at this stage Warton were only able to try and defend their goal from any other attacks but with relative ease Lee made a nice pass to Sam who was able to
convert the pass into a goal by way a very well placed shot. Rangers were now 3 - 0 up and cruising to the final whistle which came with no further goals being scored.
Well done Rangers a fine performance which hopefully has instilled some more confidence back into the team. Carry on the good work, keep the effort up and remember, COMMUNICATE- PASS - SHOOT. Shots = Goals
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 3 - Warton Typhoons 0
Star Players: Adam B, Lee, Jacob M.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Staining (1st Match) 12/September/2009
Team: Will, Lee, Ben, Jacob M, Adam B, Leon, George.

On a nice morning the game kicked off and both Rangers and Staining seemed very well matched from the start. Both teams launching attacks on each others goal and countering as required. Fortunately for Rangers, George
(OMW) Simms was in goal and as usual of late, he was not going to let much past him today. George gave a good display of some quality goal keeping, not afraid to take the ball from opposing players feet when the situation
required. Will, who was playing up front again, made some very fast runs against the Staining defenders and showed a great turn of speed, often out-running opposing players of a greater physical stature to win the ball
and make an attack at the goal.
Eventually, as the first half progressed Staining managed to fire off a shot which found its way past George and into the Rangers net. Rangers 0 - Staining 1. The first half whistle arrived with no further goals.
The second half of the match started and I think it would be fair to say that Rangers spectators were all hoping that the Rangers team on the pitch, were not going to take the goal too badly and drop their heads in a loss of
confidence which seems to have been apparent in a couple of recent matches. It was with great relief, that the team showed they were not defeated at this stage, they rallied and started to put together a good attempt at
trying to score an equalising goal. It seemed it was only going to be a matter of time now before Rangers equalised when Jacob M took a corner from the right which was met by the Staining goal keepers hands, the resulting
deflection sent the ball into the Staining goal. A cheer went up as every one saw Rangers back into contention with an equalising goal. Unfortunately the referee decided to dis-allow the goal on the grounds that the ball was
supposed to have swerved out of play and then back into play. The general opinion seemed to be that it was an unfair or at least a questionable decision.
At this stage of the game the result could have easily gone either way as Rangers, to there credit, were still up for it despite the dis -allowed goal and they continued to battle right up to the final whistle. The equaliser never came but it was well deserved if it had.
Well done lads, a great effort by you all and it was good to see some confidence returning to the team. Keep it up and pass - pass - pass !
Final score: Rangers 0 - Staining 1
Blackpool Rangers Vs Staining (2nd Match) 12/September/2009
Team: Matt, Liam, Jonny, Jacob H, Jack, Spencer, Robert.
Sub: Edward.
The second team match kicked off and both Rangers and Staining were keen to take up the challenge. It soon became apparent that Staining had a very good forward/striker who was able to get off several shots at the Rangers goal through out the first half of the game, but Rangers goal keeper Robert(The Cat)Moody was in fine form today and he was able to stop every thing that came his way with a good display of mixed goal keeping skills, well done Robert top stuff !
As the first half of the game progressed Rangers seemed to get into their stride and managed to pass the ball to each other with more confidence, the strings of passes often resulted in a shot to goal. Both Liam and Jonny were
beginning crack off some good shots at the Staining net. I think it would be fair to say that there was a feeling in the air that it was only a matter of time before Rangers scored. The goal eventually came when Rangers were
awarded a corner which Jonny was able to convert into an excellent shot that found the back of the Staining net. Rangers 1 - Staining 0 ! The match continued up to the first half whistle with both teams still battling on hard but no further goals were scored.
The second half kicked off and again, as in the first half it was another good battle. Staining obviously wanted to score the equaliser but Rangers looked the more relaxed team and were growing in confidence as the game
progressed. All the rangers team kept them selves busy and Liam in particular put in a tremendous effort, pushing up front to join the attack when required and then quickly retreating back to sure up the defence when the situation demanded it. A text book display by Liam of what is required of mid-fielder during a hard match.
The second half continued and despite a determined effort by both teams no further goals were scored and Rangers had secured the win. Well done Rangers, an entertaining game with lots of effort against a determined
opposition. Lets see more of the same. Just remember to communicate with each other on the pitch, let your team mates know where you are and pass that ball around. Accurate and sustained passing can absolutely destroy the
opposition and create openings for shots at goal, so remember Pass - Pass - Pass = Goals - Goals - Goals !
Final score - Blackpool Rangers 1 - Staining 0.

Blackpool Rangers Vs Wyre Juniors (1st Match) 5/September/2009
Team: Jonny, Jacob H, Sam, Spencer, Matt, Jack, Robert.
The first half of the game started and from the off both sides seemed up for it. Both teams attacked and counter attacked where necessary and it would be fair to say that both Rangers and Wyre looked like they wanted the win. As the first half progressed, where and when Wyre did manage to get the ball past the Rangers forwards and midfield they were then met with a formidable defence in the shape of Matty and Jacob H who on the whole looked virtually impenetrable today and any shot that found its way past Matty and Jacob H was taken care of by goal keeper Robert(The Cat) Moody, who made some great saves stopping hard shots dead with his hands and feet.
Rangers were not going to be content to play a defensive game in this match and attacks were made on the Wyre goal resulting in a good few shots being hammered off towards their net, it seemed only a matter of time before one of them found its target. Play continued with attack and counter attack but eventually Wyre found a way through Rangers defence and made a shot at the Rangers goal, Robert made a good attempt at the save and he managed to get contact with the ball, but despite his great effort the resulting deflection found the back of the net. I think it would be fair to say that it was an unlucky goal for Rangers. Rangers 0-Wyre 1
Play kicked off again and Rangers seemed to have more of a sense of urgency about them. Jonny got into his stride and he managed to launch some powerful shots off, at distance, towards the Wyre goal. One particularly good shot totally caught out the Wyre keeper and he came out to meet it only to have the ball bounce straight over his head and bounce off the Wyre crossbar. I think it would be safe to say that the shot had spectators and players from both sides alike holding their breath for a moment or two. The game continued up to the first half whistle with no further goals leaving Wyre Juniors one-nil up.
The second half kicked off and play continued in a very similar fashion to the first half, the game could have easily gone either way at this stage. As in the first half, Rangers defence was solid and the rest of the team put in
a good effort but alas an equalising goal was not to be and when the final whistle came the score remained at one-nil to Wyre.
Well done to all of the team, nearly but not quite today. Keep communicating and passing and the opportunities to shoot will come and when they do, don't be shy, take the shot. More shots = more goals. Go for it boys.
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 0 - Wyre Juniors 1
Blackpool Rangers Vs Wyre Juniors (2nd Match) - 5/September/2009
Team: Jacob M, Lee, Thomas, Adam, Will, Ben S, George.

The second match kicked off and both Rangers and Wyre played some good football. Both sides managing to launch off attacks at each others goal. Fortunately for Rangers George ( The one man wall) Simms made some great saves when required. Utilising all of his fast improving skills George stopped balls with his hands and feet and showed no fear when he was required to take to the ground in order to prevent a goal. Jakey M was
keeping himself busy up front and eventually his efforts paid off when, well into first half of the match, he was able to send the ball into the Wyre Juniors net with an on-target kick. Rangers 1 - Wyre Juniors 0. Play
continued up to the half time whistle with no further goals from either side.
The second half of the game started and after a short while Wyre Juniors put together a chain of passes which resulted in a shot to the Rangers goal which found its way past George into the net. Rangers 1 -Wyre Juniors 1. At
this point no one could really of guessed the outcome of the game, it could easily have gone either way considering the even play shown in the first half of the match.
Out of the blue Wyre Juniors seemed to find a new energy and managed to move there play up a gear or two. Over the remainder of the second half Wyre were able to launch sustained and well put-together attacks which resulted in a further three goals against Rangers taking the score to Rangers 1 - Wyre Juniors 4 at the final whistle.
It was hard to say why Rangers seemed to let the game slip away in the second half considering the more or less even play of the first half. The only problem seemed to be simply down to " work rate ". When a ball was
being pursued for possession by both a Rangers and a Wyre player, some how the Wyre player won the ball more on more occasions, like wise when tackling took place more often than not the Wyre player won the ball. Whilst all the Rangers team put in a good effort it just wasn't enough on the day to beat
Wyre, who are a decent team.
Next time boys, get to bed early the night before the match and make sure you all eat at least three Shredded Wheat for breakfast !
Don't forget, shout - shout - shout - pass - pass - pass and shoot- shoot - shoot and with a tad more effort you'll soon be back on top again boys.
Final score - Rangers 1 Wyre Juniors 4.
Blackpool Rangers Vs Biddulph Town JFC (1st Match) - 23/August/2009
Team: Will, Adam B, Jacob H, Jacob M, Ben S, Thomas, George.
Subs: Spencer, Jonny.
The match kicked off against a side that were an unknown quantity to most of us and people really didn't know how things would go. Biddulph seemed quite tuned in from the off and were soon launching attacks at the Rangers goal in a very enthusiastic and determined manner. Fortunately for Rangers George was back as " keeper of the goal " despite the painful injury he acquired in a match the previous day. To his credit he stopped every thing that came his way from the Biddulph strikers, even coming out of his nets to meet them head on at times and snatch the ball from their feet with his hands. A very brave effort by George and a less brave person may well have shied away from some of the saves he was required to make. The match continued in much the same pattern but it looked some what like Rangers had not found top gear yet. Eventually nearing the end of the first half Biddulph managed to slot a shot in past George taking them a goal up at the half time whistle.
The second half of the match kicked off and some how Rangers seemed to find the right gear and started to place some excellent football. Adam B was on form to day and he sent a nice pass from a defensive position to Thomas,
Thomas moved the ball further up the pitch and was able to pass the ball to Will who made a good shot and put one in the back of the net to get Rangers on the score card. From here on into the match Rangers really found their feet and it was a pleasure to see Rangers play some great technical football which demonstrated just what they are capable of. A mixture of accurate passing, determined tackling and the ability to play and think ahead as a
team, resulted in five more goals for Rangers before the end of the match. The second goal was a corker which was football at it best in any ones book. The ever improving Jacob M took a corner and sent the ball to Jonny's head and Jonny headed the ball into Biddulphs net sweet as a nut. The third goal came compliments of Jacob M, again crossing the ball to Jonny and then Jonny kicking the ball into Biddulphs net. Three one up ! Next it was Spencer's turn to get on the scorecard, which he did with another admirable shot for goal which found its target. Four one up ! Jacob M was next in the queue and he found the goal with another great on target shot. Five one up and Biddulph at this stage began to look at bit frustrated and disheartened and who could blame them. The sixth and final goal for Rangers and the match came courteousy of Jacob M and Jonny again. With Jacob M taking another great corner which Jonny was able to convert into a goal with a well placed
shot.
Football doesn't really get any better than this to watch and it was an entertaining game for spectators.
Well done to all of the team and I emphasize the word "team" as this match produced the results it did due to a cracking team effort.
Keep up the good work.
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 6 - Biddulph Town JFC 1
Blackpool Rangers Vs Biddulph Town JFC (2nd Match) - 23/August/2009
Team: Will,Adam B, Jacob H, Jacob M, Spencer, Ben S,Thomas.
Subs: Will, Jonny.
After an excellent and well earned victory against Biddulph in the first match, Rangers started the second game in quite a confident state of mind, but the battle was only just beginning and anything could happen. It wasn't
long before Rangers manage to get to grips with the fresh Biddulph team and get the ball in the net. The first goal came compliments of Jonny who made a great kick which found its target. This goal seemed to confirm that a second win of the day against Biddulph was quite possible.
Biddulph put up a spirited performance but with Rangers well in their stride and passing the ball amongst each other with ease, it was not long before Thomas made a great shot for the Biddulph goal which also found its target.
Two nil up at this stage and Rangers were dealing with any attacks Biddulph launched at them. Any shots made by Biddulph which weren't intercepted by Rangers defenders were taken care of by George who seemed to be revelling in his position as goal keeper. Eventually to their credit Biddulph managed to find a way through the up to now bomb proof Rangers defence and put a shot in the net. The whistle blew to end the first half with Rangers in a two-one lead.
The second half of the match was similar to the first with Rangers growing in confidence and carrying out some tremendous team moves with accurate and sustained passing which often resulted in the opportunity for a shot at
goal. It was only a matter of time now before more goals would come. With what seemed an almost relaxed approach to play all of the Rangers team seemed to be prepared to try out different moves and there confidence grew.
In a very quick but intelligent move Jacob M made a throw-in at about the half way mark, the ball landed in a great position perfectly placed for Jonny to collect it and launch a great cross to big Ben Smith who had got himself nicely positioned front of goal. Ben quickly launched a shot off which was straight in the net. Lovely stuff and yet another goal achieved as a result of a great combined team effort. Play continued with very little threat from Biddulph now and they seemed to have had the wind taken out of their sales at this point and were showing some signs of frustration.
Rangers kept up the pressure and eventually Will found himself in position to let go a good shot which found the back of Biddulphs goal net. Four one up at this stage of the game and that's how it stayed until the final
whistle came.
A great team effort by Rangers and I think it would be safe to say a match greatly enjoyed by both players and spectators. A superb game of football in the truest sense of the word.
Final score: Blackpool Rangers 4 - Biddulph Town JFC 1
Blackpool Rangers Vs BJFF (1st Match) - 22/August/2009
Team: Adam B, Jacob H, Jacob M, Lee, Thomas, Will, George.
Subs: Liam, Ben S, Jack.
The game started off and from the start both teams seemed busy with plenty of attacks and counters from both sides. As the first half progressed BJFF started to take up the role of attackers and Rangers were increasingly
forced to play a defensive game, but what a great defence it was. Under pressure the Rangers defence looked impenetrable.
BJFF continued to carry on attacking and eventually with persistence a very hard shot found its way past the Rangers players and headed dead on goal. The ball was stopped in its path with one hand by Rangers new improved weapon, goal keeper George (the one man wall) Simms ! George made a difficult save look very easy and I think it would be safe to say that players and spectators alike were impressed with his save, top stuff.
The first half continued with Rangers now increasing their share of the attacking play with new team member Will beginning to get into his stride and fire off some shots at the Rangers goal. At this stage the game could of
gone either way. Eventually with half time approaching BJFF managed to get in a shot which found its way into the Rangers net. The first half whistle came with BJFF one goal up.
The second half of the match started and there was not much between the two sides in essence, BJFF just seemed to be firing off more shots to goal, this tactic as always paid off and BJFF soon had the ball in the Rangers net once again to put them selves into a two goal lead. The match continued with attacking and defending by both sides in equal amounts but Rangers could not manage to get a goal on the score card before the final whistle blew. All the Rangers team put in a good effort on a warm day. A great debut by Will and some sound goal keeping by George. George is going to frustrate a good few opposing strikers this season with his current and improving standard of goal keeping. Lee's input into the match was superb and not much managed to
get past his great defending.
Well played Rangers.
Blackpool Rangers Vs BJFF (2nd Match)
Team: Same as the first game due to lack of available players.
For the second match Rangers were faced with a fresh BJFF team so it was going to require a solid effort by Rangers to see the match through. The game started off well with attacking and counter attacking by both teams.
BJFF some how seemed to be more ready or confident to take shots for goal than Rangers but despite the higher shot rate, George was not going to let much past him today and he stopped every thing that came his way, showing some impressive goal keeping.
As the game continued George came out to meet another attack by a BJFF forward, as he bravely went to the ground to take the ball from the attackers feet he took a nasty but unintentional blow to the mouth.
Unfortunately George had to retire hurt for the rest of the game. His place in goal was taken by Jacob H who did a sound job for the rest of the match.
As the game got back into swing, Rangers were now beginning to put some pressure on the BJFF defence and Lee made a great pass up to Will. Will managed to take the ball forward and fire off a good shot which found the
back of the BJFF net, taking Rangers into a one goal lead.
The match kicked off again and both sides carried on battling. The only difference between the two sides at this stage was that BJFF again seemed more able to fire off the shots at goal. Eventually one of the BJFF shots
managed to find the Rangers net bringing the score to one goal each at the whistle for the end of the first half.
The second half of the game kicked off and again the match could have gone either way, but BJFF notched up another goal with an on target shot. Rangers made a good effort and put in some good attacks. Jack had a cracking shot at the BJFF goal but the shot didn't find its way into the net. The battle continued and Jack who seemed to be well up for it today managed to get a very good pass to Ben S. Ben made a great attempt at the goal, but again and unluckily the ball did not find its way to the net. Played continued with no further goals at the final whistle.
Another great effort by all the Rangers players, a few more shots at goal might just have given Rangers a victory in this match. You need to have more confidence in your ability to shoot for goal and score. Don't be shy lads,
lets see you wacking that ball towards your opponents goal a few more times in each match, it will pay off. If you don't shoot for goal you won't score a goal. Come on you know you can do it.

Warton Typhoons V Blackpool Rangers 4/July/2009
Team 1: Tom, Adam T, Adam B, Leon, Lee, Matthew, Spencer
Subs: Ben S, Edward.
The game got off to a slow start with roughly equal play for the first 5 to 10 minutes, then Rangers seemed to tune in and switch on. Spencer set off on an excellent run up the left wing and made a superb cross, the ball went straight to Adam T's head and he sent the ball cleanly into the back of the net, Rangers 1 Warton 0. Quite soon after the first goal and after some excellent team play Adam T was again in position to chance another shot and stick the ball into the net again to give him his second goal of the match. Good play from both teams took the game up to half time with no further goals, the score standing at 2 - 0 to Rangers.
The second half started and both Rangers and Warton came out and played some good football. Suddenly Warton seemed to move up a gear and after some good team play, on their behalf, they were able to shoot for goal, the ball found it's way passed Thomas and into the net to give them their first goal of the match. The match kicked off again with Warton keeping up their good team play and as a result they were able to shoot for goal again and the ball found it's target. The two Warton goals were both good examples of what good passing can achieve. The score was now 2 - 2, the match was becoming a very interesting tussle and could of gone either way at this stage of the game, but Rangers stuck to the task and after a great team effort Leon crossed the ball and once again Adam T was able to turn the cross into a shot which ended up in the back of the net. With a sense of relief in the air, the last few minutes of the game were played out and Rangers managed to hold off any further attacks from Warton. At the final whistle the score was 3 - 2 to Rangers with Adam T claiming himself a
hatrick! A great team effort all round. Lee seemed really at home and did a great job in defence today and Spencer played a major part in the team’s success on the day and although his efforts weren't reflected on the score card, he was rewarded with the Star Player shirt. Well done to all the team, a great effort by every member.
Final Score - Rangers 3 Warton 2
Star Player: Spencer.

The match kicked off and the first half battle seemed pretty equal with both teams launching attacks and defending when required. Rangers could of probably achieved a bit more success in the first half if more passing had occurred but that aside the team effort was great. About half way through the first half Rangers were awarded a free kick, a good twenty yards from Warton’s goal. Johnny stepped up to take the kick. He launched a powerful shot which landed clean in the net out of reach of Warton's keeper, you couldn’t ask for any thing more, nice one Johnny! Rangers 1 Warton 0. Both teams then attacked and counter attacked bringing the match up to half time with no further score. The second half kicked off with Liam now playing. The game continued with good effort from both teams but with determination to win the ball and an increasing amount of passing on Rangers behalf, Rangers began to make some headway. Liam took the ball round a Warton player and then passed the ball up the right wing to Jacob M who was able to move the ball towards the goal and let a shot go, the ball went into the net to bring Rangers into a 2 - 0 lead. Rangers continued with some determined play keeping up the pressure on Warton and were eventually rewarded with a penalty. Jacob M stepped up to do the business and put the ball into the far left hand corner of the Warton goal, a great penalty shot! Rangers 3 Warton 0. Rangers were now pretty much in control and the game went to full time with no further goals by either team. Jacob M seems to be increasing in confidence with every match and his efforts aren't going un-noticed. His award of the Star Player shirt seemed a popular choice with his team mates, so well done Jacob M and well done team, another great effort.
Just remember the three P's, Pass - Pass - Pass.

The game started well for us and we looked like we could get a result , we had several half chances but seem to find it hard to compose ourselves enough to pass like we can do to create the easy chance. The game continued and the majority of the game was played in the middle of the pitch with neither goal being threatened. Half Time was confirmation of that 0-0. The second half was a similar story if anything at the start of it we were on top , but the referee was giving little for us and we were once again finding it difficult to quickly get the ball into their half and conceded a few corners towards the end of the game and unfortunately one of them was headed well for a late goal and a late 1-0 defeat how frustrating ! Final Score 1-0 but a lot to take heart from as they are the clear 2nd in the league.

For the first 10 minutes we looked just as good as them and easily held them and if anything we created the more chances in that period than they did and if only we could have scored the game may have been totally different. We did eventually concede and then we lost our way a little and conceded a second in fairly quick succession , Spirit then quickly took charge of the game and maybe should have scored again but instead Spencer came from off the bench to poke in what turned out to be a consolation goal against the run of play and with a few minutes left it still looked a possibility that we could draw but we didn’t create enough chances but we did try and the goal was the catalyst for that , but it was too little , too late.
Final Score 2-1 to Spirit but again was a result they can be proud of against the 2nd in the league.

YMCA v Blackpool Rangers 28/2/09
Team 1 : Robert , Matthew , Adam B , Ben S , Adam T , Jacob M , Lee
Subs : AJ , Spencer , Edward
Both teams came to the top of the leagues ground in good form having won all of their last six games and having beaten the under 10s. The setting was perfect with YMCA’s pitch in immaculate condition. The first game was under way and we started fairly well but probably needed to put in that little bit extra to have the edge, the defence and an inspired Robert in goals were magnificent, the midfield worked hard and frustrated the talented YMCA boys, Lee up front always gets involved and worked well helping out with some defensive duties. We kept on going throughout the first half keeping the strong YMCA side at bay, half time 0-0. YMCA’s continual pressure eventually won through though and with us not being able to clear the ball effectively meant that we went 1-0 down, a great right foot shot from about 18 yards (great goal) it was going to take something special to get past Robert today!! We did not give up and pressed forward Adam T beating his man and smashing a great shot towards the YM goal, the keeper was up to the task and made a good two handed save to deny Adam. Sadly it was not to be our day, Final Score 1-0 to them a fair result as they were the better team on the day.
Star players: Robert (Fantastic saves!!), Mathew (Another top effort)
Team 2 : Charmaine , George , Jack , Johnny , Thomas M , Liam , Leon

I was hoping that we would reproduce the form of last week when we beat the under 10’s 5-1 with us passing the ball around like United, but despite not rising to that level we still managed to put on a great display. However after only a few minutes we found ourselves a goal down, we failed to clear the ball properly, having been out battled by YMCA who were slightly more physical than us and managed to slot the ball just past Charmaine. It was great to see our response though; we found ourselves soon pushing forward and caused several problems for their team without just having that final touch. Every player did a fine job Jack and George in defence were great; George’s bullet header (that he still felt 5 minutes later) was a moment to savour !! Thomas, Johnny, Liam and Leon caused lots of problems and battled hard. Second half underway and we raised our game even more and early on in this half we more than matched the top of the league and deserved a goal. We made changes with subs coming on and doing some great work. Our domination resulted in a break away by Leon who was pushed in the back just before he shot forcing the referee to give us a penalty. A confident Johnny stepped up and pushed it just wide (so close!!) unlucky pal, you had a great game!!, these things happen in football. We carried on battling and deserved at least a draw out of the game but it was not meant to be. In the end it was a great performance against a team that has not been beaten all season.

The boys were a litte nervous before the start of the game, but with confidence growing and goal opportunities coming more and more as the games pass we again started well. We battled hard for every ball but found our selves 1-0 down quite early on after some good work down the right from the under 10's. We reacted well and created several great chances Johnny, Leon and Thomas all forcing good saves from the keeper. We continued to press and got a briiliant yet simple equaliser, it followed excellent work from practically all the team with Thomas finally squaring the ball for Johnny to tap in. This gave us even more confidence and we went 2-1 up soon after. We made changes early in the second half with all the subs coming on. Sam Knight grabbed two goals and Johnny completed his hat trick to give us an amazing 5-1 victory and a truelly outsatnding all round team display. Well done!!

Practically the same team as last week with Ben Smith returning from his sick bed, replacing Jack who moved to the other team. They had watched the previous game and am sure gained some confidence. The under 10's had a point to prove and pushed forward from the first whistle. Sadly for them our defence were in top form, fighting for every ball and sticking to their players like glue. Mathew, Adam B and Edward all do a fantastic job for the team and have been truely fantastic the last few games. The midfield and Lee up front did a great job and when given half a chance Lee pounced and slotted the ball home mid way in the second half. This would prove to be the final score despite the under 10's constant battling to the final whistle. Under 9's 1 under 10's 0. Two great wins for us today, lets hope we can continue the good form into next weekend!! Fingers crossed. Well done veryone, keep up the good work!!

We started off well enough , as we should have done playing the bottom of the league. We were quickly on top having the lions share of the possession but still not creating as many chances as we should. Then a fantastic goal from Liam hit from near the corner flag , we will have to take his word for it that it was a shot and not a cross ! , but a great first goal for the club nonetheless. We quickly gained momentum from the goal and the next 5 minutes resulted in several chances for us and if the goal had been 1 metre wider on the keepers left we would have scored another 4 in that 5 minute period. Charmaine’s determination resulted in her netting the 2nd goal and what a great goal it was. Grit and constant battling by Thomas Miller resulted in the most deserved goal as he had to almost force it over the line , an end to his barren goal spell I hope. The 4th goal ended up in the back of the net with Leon just about getting the last touch and Sam having some involvement too. A well deserved win but I have to say could and should have been nearer 8-0 than 4-0. Shooting practice again at training ! Full time 4-0.

Right from the start I knew we had the game won even before we scored. We had a couple of chances very early on which if playing someone better we need to finish to be title contenders. Lee got us off the mark with a screamer which sailed into the top corner followed by a quick goal from the ever reliable Jacob M. Half Time 2-0. Second half underway and a notable mention has to go to Adam Thornton as he had about a third of the possession of the game and yet again controlled and influenced the game to such a degree that it was an injustice for him not to have scored. The third goal highlights this where he dribbled round about 4 of their players and then shot powerfully at the goal and their keeper managed to stop the shot and with the ball hovering on the line Jake managed to get a touch to make it 3-0. The last goal was a bit of a goalmouth scramble with Spencer just getting his foot before the defenders to make it 4-0 , Final Score 4-0 , same result as the first game but a more realistic result.

A few of the team were suffering from a few nerves prior to kick off but it has to be said there appeared to be no sign of them from the sound of the first whistle. We passed the ball well, moving into space and talking to each other. Mathew and Adam at the back looked solid with Ben S, Adam T and Jacob causing lots of problems from a Warton team who we always have close competetive games against. But it was Lee who got us up and running with a lovely goal from the right hand side. He turned the defender looked up and drilled the ball to the keepers near post with his left foot 1-0. More pressure came with several good opportunities, goals followed from Ben S and Jacob M. Half time 3-0. Soon in the second half we made changes with Edward, Sam, AJ and Spencer coming on. We continued to dominate with Thomas hardly touching the ball in goal, but we could not break down the stubborn Warton defence. Top all round effort from everyone well done. Final score 3-0 to us !!!!
Star players: Jacob M (Top Stuff) Edward (well played Ed, several great turns!!)
Team 2 : Charmaine , Jack , Jacob H , Charmaine , Thomas M , Liam , Leon
Subs : William , Joe , George, Ben F
Again we looked strong from the first whistle we passed the ball well and created several good chances. We had a new duo at the back with Jack Arliss playing alongside Jakob H, they looked very good together and kept a solid line at the back protecting the ever reliable Charmaine in goal. Johnny, Thomas and Liam linked up well with Leon and continually pressed forward. This sustained pressure released Johnny through on goal and as cool as you like slid the ball to the keepers side to give us a 1-0 lead. It remained that way till half time with all the team brimming with confidence. As usual we made changes in the second half with George, Ben F and William all coming on. All the boys battled hard and again Johnny found himself through on goal to make it 2-0, minutes later same again from the half way line the ball broke loose with Warton pushing forward and Johnny took on the keeper and fired the ball into the back of the net to make it 3. Warton got a consolation goal after a bit of confusion in defence, but we had already done enough. Final score 3-1 and a place in the semi final of the plate. Well Done!!

First five minutes BJFF were well on top with us struggling to get into the game but we slowly were edging back into it and it was drawing closer and closer but the lack of definitive clearances when under pressure in our own half meant they were getting chance after chance and eventually it was 1-0. We did respond with a chance from Adam which was very unlucky. We then seemed to lose faith and a goal mouth scramble made it 2-0 , followed by another to make it 3-0 and then we conceded a penalty through a daft hand ball. Rob did brilliantly to parry the ball away but we were second to react and they chipped in the rebound to make the final score 4-0.
Team 2
Thomas (keeper) , George , Charmaine , Liam , Thomas , Jacob H , Leon
Subs
Jack , Ben F , AJ , William
We started poorly with BJFF well on top but we began to even things up and we had 50 % of the possession , but lack of concentration meant that we were caught the wrong side of the opposition to concede the first goal. Half Time 1-0. Second half under way and again BJFF were dominant and with a few changes made we were quickly under pressure conceding another to make it 2-0. Their relentless pressure and stronger striking power meant that we struggled to get the ball into their half and BJFF forced another to make it 3-0. A fair result where they seemed to be able to strike the ball a lot sweeter than us giving them too much of an edge. All the players need to practice kicking the ball as most teams we play seem to be that little bit more advanced than us , it is not enough to just kick it a few times on Tues night and Sat morning some of us need to practice more otherwise we will get left behind.

We started badly conceding an early goal but we quickly retaliated with a shot from Adam that was ‘oh so close’ . Lee then won the ball well and had a cross / shot that Ben S did really well to direct the ball into the back of the net to equalise the score to 1-1. The game then died a little bit with both teams cancelling one another out. Final Score was 1-1 but with a little more concentration and effort we could have easily won this game.
Team 2
Thomas (keeper) , George , Charmaine , Liam , Johnny , Thomas , Leon
Subs
Joe , William , Ben F
We began like lightning with an early shot from Leon and in the first 5 minutes we had almost all of the possession dominating the game very convincingly. Then came a real nice bit of football , Leon received the ball from Liam who then passed to Thomas , Thomas to Johnny and Johnny slotted in the back of the net , it looked like they had been playing together for years ! We continued to dominate which forced a free kick for us on the edge of their box , which Leon casually stepped up and smashed in to make it 2-0. Leon then picked the ball up on the half way line shrugged of their 2 defenders then slotted past their keeper to make the game safe at 3-0. Half Time 3-0. We slowed a little at half time but we had won the game already and we made it 4-0 courtesy of Leon’s hat trick but allowed them to get a consolation to make the final score 4-1.

On a very wet day the game got underway and the pitch was actually in pretty good nick despite the weather. We started off well again as we have done over the last few weeks and we were well on top , our pressure paid off and although we were not shooting as much as last week a deflected shot from Johnny went in and we continued to dominate having the lions share of the possession. However the turning point in the game came when AFC had a shot at goal and it hit our defender on the arm who was only standing a few yards away and didn’t stand a chance to get out of the way and the ref deemed it a penalty and although I have seen them given in the premiership these lads are only 8 years old ! A great penalty strike though made it 1-1 , we continued to really dominate with us having probably around 70 % possession and Johnny at one point had took it past the whole team but we just couldn’t score more than the 1 goal , we did need to shoot more and also pass it around , follow up every shot , the normal stuff we tell them to do every week but we never do all 3 in the same game , we will one day ! The game continued with us on top but the ref was probably too strict in my opinion for the age they are and he should have let the game flow as this was our undoing when a free kick to AFC rebounded out and they had a great shot which went sailing in. Final Score 1-2 to AFC I seem to say it every few weeks but another game lost when we actually deserved to win not even to draw.

Although not all players were firing on all cylinders one certainly was and he is Adam Thornton , if Alex Ferguson was watching he would have signed him up on £100K a week ! He controlled the game throughout and due to the amount of possession he had he finally got an opportunity to shoot to make it 1-0 , with us getting the first goal we stayed on top , AFC did have a few half chances and battled with us during the middle of the game , then Adam T banged in his second and the whole team seemed to be lifted. Straight from their kick off after the second goal Adam Thornton got the ball off them almost immediately, then took what looked like the whole team on but I think it was just 3 of them ! and then smashed it past the keeper to make it 3-0 and Adam’s well deserved hat trick. Final Score 3-0 in what turned out to be an easy win , pity we were robbed in the first game as this should have been 6 points to us and to come away with just 3 was an injustice.

Team 1
Jacob H , Adam B , Matthew , Jacob M , Adam T , Ben S , Sam
Subs ; Spencer , Jake , AJ , Edward
We started off fairly well and whilst not on top of the proceedings we certainly were ‘holding our own’ , a great shot from the Foxhall forward which resulted in an equally great save from Jacob Hurst but Foxhall were quicker to react to the rebound which put us 1-0 down , a goal which was more of a Rangers mistake than a Foxhall creation. We tried to battle back but it was all in vain as they continued their momentum and made it 2-0 with a free kick that I have to say every one on the pitch just stood still and watched it sail into the back off the net , a great strike for such a young lad. Half Time 2-0 down we needed to come out trying and although they did in patches I always come away feeling that they could have put more effort in. They forced a corner and whilst it was a well struck corner , the header that put it in was even better , once again we seem to wait to see what happens rather than directly influencing things ourselves , especially in set plays. By this time it was damage limitation as this was a cup game and it was a cumulative result from both games. We did well to keep it at 3-0 or was it just luck as they hit the bar and the post and it could have ended in disaster but the final score remained 3-0 to Foxhall.

We started off passing well and forcing Foxhall back , this resulted in winning several corners which we were unlucky not to make more of but needing 3 goals to peg them back we needed to score soon and we did thanks to Johnny , we remained on top having more shots than we normally do at goal most from Johnny but a couple from Leon , both were unlucky that none of these went in as some were mighty close and this may have made the difference if the luck had just been in our favour for once. We continued to pressure them but then the momentum faded halfway through the second half and this allowed Foxhall back into the game and they equalised from a corner , where the Foxhall player just got first to the ball and poked it in the near post , with about 5 minutes left neither team had any decent chances and the game just drifted to an end. Final score 1-1 in a game we deserved to win. Combined score of both games was 4-1 to Foxhall probably a fair result as Foxhall convincingly beat us in the first game although we did deserve to nick the 2nd.

Blackpool Rangers v Wyre Juniors 29/11/08
Team 1 : Jacob H , Matthew , Adam B , Ben S , Adam T , Jacob M , Sam
Subs : Edward , Joe and Spencer
We started off reasonably well and were battling hard in the cold until Wyre finally broke through courtesy of their best player to make it 1-0 , we kept on going and gave Mathew the job of man marking their number 19, what a great job he did. Once we had started to control their main threat we began to take control and forced waves of pressure. Eventually after a great break forward we forced a corner down the left hand side. Jake stepped up and swung in a quality ball to the near post, Jacob M pounced on it and slotted the ball past the Wyre keeper, 1-1, It was looking like a draw which would have been a fair result , but the ref gave an unjustified free kick on the edge of the area. The free kick was the last kick off the game and somehow ended up in the back off the net. Final score 1-2 to Wyre.
Star Player : Adam Thornton (for yet another great performance , did not deserve to be on the losing side ).
Team 2 : Thomas (keeper) , George , Charmaine , Lee , Johnny , Thomas M , Leon

The second team seemed to be a little more up for it than the first but after some confusion at the back Wyre broke through and scored against the run of play. We were passing it around well and looked every bit the better side we soon managed to pull one back with Lee showing some clinical finishing, a flurry of goals later and we were suddenly winning 4-2 , 1 more goal was needed for a comfortable victory , but we do not like doing things the easy way and against the run of play conceded to make it 4-3 and meant that for the last 5 minutes we were hanging on for dear life , but after what seemed like an age and a seemingly couple of extra minutes from the ref he finally blew for a deserved 4-3 win.

Blackpool Rangers v Warton Typhoons 22/11/08
Team 1: Charmaine, George, Lee, Johnny, Thomas, Liam, Leon
Subs: Ben F, William, Joe
Some top football is being played by both our teams at the moment and this was no exception. Sadly we need to remember our shooting boots. Time and again after some lovely passing moves we did not manage to get a shot on goal. To win games we must score goals nad to score goals we must be confident in our ability to shoot. We are more than capable of doing it. Warton had a point to prove after two wins to us the previous week, they came out fighting and competed for every ball. Mid way in the first half the ball fell kindly to one of their players who poked it towards goal, somehow it managed to just get under Charmaine who made a great attempt to save it. We pressed forwards and created several great chances Johnny hit the bar and just put one wide when through on goal, their keeper was in great form and also made some fine saves. In the second half we got caught late on, chasing an equaliser and Warton broke forward getting past our defence and drove the ball in past Charmaine to her left. Final score 2-0 Warton but another fine performance from us. Well done.
Star Player: Thomas (looked back to his best)
Team 2: Jakob H, Mathew, Adam B, Adam T, Jacob M, Ben S, Spencer

We were well up for this game, with every player showing real passion to win the ball. However dispite our good start it was late on in the first half when we managed to break down the excellent Warton defence via an excellent finish via the inspired Adam T. Half time 1-0. In the second half we continued to press forward, creating several good chances. Jacob M and Ben S out wide were amazing and Mathew and Adam B at the back were so accomplished in their performance that poor Jakob in goal hardly had a touch. Spencer kept going up front and his effort did not go unrewarded as he pounced on a ball to make it 2-0. A short while later Adam T decided to blast a long range effort which was too well struck for the keeper to hold, making it 3-0 and a great all round performance. Sam, Jake, Edward and Aj all came on, each of them giving it 110%. So much so Sam deservedly won the star player shirt after a run of outstanding performances. Well done Sam!

Team 1 : Thomas (keeper) , George , Charmaine , Thomas M , Liam , Johnny and Leon

We took control of the game very early on and had several corners which we did not take advantage of , then ‘Here’s Johnny’ ! with a 30 yard strike to make it 1-0 , we were keeping the ball well which is most unusual for us ! , then Johnny picked the ball up on the right and passed it to Liam who then looked up and put a perfect ball in for Leon who calmly finished it to make it 2-0. The defence kept solid not having a great deal to do and Thomas was also well up to the job when required saving a couple of shots. Johnny scored the 3rd just before half time making him involved with every goal. Second half was under way and Warton came out fighting they must have had ‘the hairdryer treatment’ at half time ! , they started to look dangerous and they eventually scored making it 3-1, giving them hope of a come back. The second half was fairly even however after some more sustained pressure we made the Warton keeper make several fine saves . A great performance where almost every player contributed to the success of the team. Final Score 1-3 to us.

Second game started off at a fast pace, I think we sensed that we could do well as the other team had done previously. Jacob M took the ball down the right wing taking 3 players on and delivering a great cross to Ben S who tried to finish it then it fell to Lee who shot but it deflected to Adam and after a bit of a scramble it was Adam T that banged it in for a 1-0 lead. This was just as one sided as the first game with Adam T controlling the middle of the pitch and passing to his team mates more than he has ever done causing the team to gel even better than before. Then Ben Smith picked up the ball on the half way line and battled past one of the defenders and slotted it in the goal making it 2-0. The defence were playing their part by squashing every possible chance that they had and Jacob Hurst could have brought his gameboy with him only getting a few touches all game thanks to our dominance. Birthday boy Spencer then slotted in our 3rd making it an expensive day for his parents ! Even our defence wanted to score and Matthew ran the whole length of the pitch like an unstoppable train but lost his footing in their area but this set up Sam to score the final goal to make it 4-0. Sam scored again but the referee ruled him to have fouled their keeper. A great performance and the 2nd set of the well deserved 3 points to the rangers and with AFC Blackpool not playing this meant that we move up to 4th in the league behind YMCA , Spirit and Wyre Juniors. Well Done to all !!!

Blackpool Rangers v Spirit of Youth 8/11/08
Team 1: AJ, Mathew, Jacob, Adam T, Jacob M, Ben S, Lee
Subs: Edward, Sam, Jake, Spencer
The first match got underway and we had to be on top of our game as Spirit had only been beaten twice in the league so far and were currently lying 2nd. We battled for the first 10 minutes and although not on top were managing to hold them at bay. Then the Spirit constant pressure won through and a long range shot went sailing in quickly followed by another 2. Jacob Hurst then went in goal and did a great job of only conceding 1 more despite a significant amount of pressure. He pulled of 2 great saves to keep the score at a respectable level and earned himself the star player award in the process. Final Score 0 – 4.
Star Player : Jacob Hurst (Great goal keeping well done!!)
Team 2: Thomas, George, Charmaine, Thomas M, Johnny, Adam B, Leon
Subs: Liam, William, Ben F, Joe
The rain had just stopped after a torrential pour down in the first game which had left the pitch a little wet ! Nevertheless we started off fairly promising but like the first game their constant battling and pressure forced the first goal , Thomas made a couple of great saves but another 2 goals quickly followed. We just needed to raise our game a little bit and put in as much effort as every one of Spirit were. The game at this point looked totally beyond us and when Liam came on he seemed to give us a fresh approach and he picked the ball up on the half way line looked up and slotted a pass through to Leon which made him clear through , Leon ran a few yards until just inside the box and then calmly fired the ball past the keeper. This goal transformed our team and with renewed confidence raised our game 100% and forced another goal to make it 4 – 2 , we only needed a couple of goals to get a result , with 5 mins to go we were well on top and deserved the draw but it was not meant to be. Why does it take a goal for us to play like that ? If we had played like that all game we would have beaten them hands down. Final Score 2 -4.

Wyre Juniors V Blackpool Rangers 1/11/08
Team 1: AJ, Mathew, Sam, Leon, Jacob M, Thomas, Spencer
Subs: Edward, William
I have to say that some of our all round team play has been getting better and better as the weeks go by. We are starting to play well as a team and creating plenty of chances to score, without quite getting the final shot away. This was no exception we played well from start to finish, however we seem to keep conceding sloppy early goals and found our selves chasing the game from early on. Half time score 0-1 to Wyre, as the second half started we began to dominarte possesion and soon forced an equalise, via Leon. Litterally minutes later though we got caught pushing to far forward and conceded again. 2-1 Wyre. Again we pressed forward and equalised again, this time through Thomas after good work in midfield. Yet again though seconds later Wyre scored on the break making it 3-2 to them and dispite a great effort to get back into it we could not break down the Wyre defence for a third time. Final score 3-2 to Wyre.
Just remember guys we must all defend as a team as well as press forward to score goals. Thats how you win games. Team work!! Well played!!
Star player: Mathew solid defending, excellent again !!
Team 2: Jake, George, Jakob H, Johnny, Lee, Liam, Ben S.
Subs: Ben F, Joe
We attempted to field an unchanged team from the previous week's winning side, with the only change coming in goals with Jake replacing the absent Thomas. Full credit to Jake he was keen to give it a shot between the sticks. We started slowly and were slow to react to the loose ball in the area, Wyre pounced and slotted the ball in to give them an early 1-0 lead. Minutes later the same thing happened, with the ball sneaking into the bottom corner. We started to get going a little and had some good possesion through Johnny, Liam, Ben S and Lee, but it was on the break we got caught with Wyre scoring a third before half time. In the second half i felt we took control a lot more and started to dominate the possesion, but we struggled defensively as a team (not individuals) and Wyre scored 4 more with us scoring 3 via Ben S (1) and Johnny (2. Final score 7-3 Wyre.
Star player: Johnny great all round play and 2 fab goals. Well played!
Layton Juniors v Blackpool Rangers 25/10/08
Team 1 : AJ , Adam B , Matthew , Jacob M , Thomas M , Leon , Joe
Subs : Ben F , Edward
A windy / rainy day at Boundary park against Layton and we were hoping to win the toss so that we could start off with the wind in our favour but that was not meant to be. The game started off with Layton quickly benefitting from the wind and a quick shot after 30 seconds went sailing into our net with our team not reacting very quickly at all to the threat. We showed some resilience and fought back to equalise courtesy of Joe , however this pressure was short lived and we conceded again just before half time. Second half started and I was sure that we would take advantage of the wind and go on to win from 2-1 down but they scored a quick goal and took the wind out of our sails. We replied with a long range shot from Leon from 25 yards out to make it 3-2 , but we were never on top of the game and conceded 2 more soft goals to make the final score 5-2 to Layton , score line possibly flattered them a little but they were the best team on the day. Adam T , Charmaine and Spencer were missed and this meant that this changed team did not gel as well as it normally does.

Second match underway the rain by this time was coming down in buckets and I hoped that this would not affect our performance. We started off well and were on top but could not create a goal scoring opportunity. Free kick to Layton on the edge of the box and the Layton player struck it really well and it was sailing in to the goal but Thomas pulled of a terrific save to keep it at 0-0. Most of the play was in our half with the help of the wind but then the ball fell to Ben Smith on the half way line , he managed to shrug off a couple of defenders and ran towards the Layton goal and slotted it past their keeper a fantastic individual goal. Half Time 1-0.
We had the wind this half and looked in total control of the game , Layton barely had a chance in the second half and we had quite a number of half chances but nothing simple. Johnny had a couple of long range shots which just would not go in until eventually one of them did which made it 2-0. Liam the newcomer made a noticeable performance and I think will prove to be an asset to the club. A well deserved victory in a game which we dominated. Final Score 2-0 to Blackpool Rangers.

We started of very solidly keeping the game very tight with most of the play in the middle of the pitch at first. Everyone on the team was giving it their all and eventually this determination won through with Lee netting the first goal of the season for this team , Well done !!! They continued to battle and despite a certain amount of pressure and chances for Fleetwood Gym we managed to hold on to the 1 - 0 win and earn a vital 3 points. Well done to the defence for keeping a clean sheet.Their first win of the season and also this teams best performance to date , Come on !!!

Our second team didn't start off quite as sharply as the first but nevertheless were dominating the game. We had quite a few chances but were unable to capitalise , this gave the away team a fighting chance and with their first half chance of the game the ball ended up in the back of the net due to a misplaced defensive clearance. This gave them undeserved hope and lifted Fleetwood Gym and had the opposite effect on us , with some heads down we conceded another , I think with their second half chance of the game , unbelievable ! we should be about 4 up at this point. Then came the Liverpool style comeback with Adam Thornton acting as Gerrard and Jacob Mullen thinking he was Torres scoring not 1 but 2 goals to get us right back in it . 2-2 with 5 minutes to go we should have made it 5-2 the chances we had , 3 of us against the keeper , we just couldn't get it in the net. How unlucky , we were robbed !!! Final Score 2-2.

A very evenly contested game at first with chances coming at both ends of the pitch. We passed the ball well and created several early chances but just could not hit the target including a missed penalty!!. Late on in the first half we had another sustained period of pressure with the FC defence holding firm, a ball was half cleared away from goal and there about 20 yards out the ball fell to Charmaine she took one touch and smashed it to the keepers left giving him no chance 0-1. In the second half Sam came on who's constant persistance created a chance for Leon to fire home from close range 0-2. Leon repayed the compliment for Sam setting him up to score a similar goal. Adam Thornton made it 0-4 from distance to give us a well deserved 4-0 victory. Well played everybody.

Again another even match with both teams having good spells of possesion. We appeared to be creating the best chances but for some reason want to walk the ball into the net!! We played good football but the final touch just did not come. Lee made a great run beating the defenders leaving himself 1 on 1 , however the keeper was on his toes read the danger and saved at Lee's feet. A little later an FC player handled in the box giving us our second penalty of the day and our third in two weeks. Johnny stepped up confidently and struck it to the keepers right who managed to save it comfortably (Not again!). It looked like nobody would score until Fc broke forward and a half cleared ball fell to a blue and black shirt in the box, he fired it into the roof of the net to give FC the lead. We battled on but could not break down there stubborn defence. Well played both teams it was a very encouraging and positive performance, the goals will come soon i'm sure of that!!

Blackpool Rangers in away kit yellow as not to clash with the blue of FC rangers. We started strongly dominating the game , and we created all the chances with Thomas having little to do in goal in the first half. Our relentless pressure resulted in the ball eventually going in the back of the net courtesy of an FC rangers player. They all count !We continued to have the lions share of possession with Johnny playing well but just unable to get his final shots away normally after taking on about 3 or 4 players !
Half Time 1-0. The second half was a different story it was much closer and if anything FC rangers had the better opportunities but with Thomas making a couple of spectacular saves and Matthew giving his usual solid performance we managed to hold on to a 1-0 win. A great all round performance and with Thomas M back from injury having spent time in the treatment room we should be stronger next time.

The 2nd team started off at 100 miles an hour and had three quarters of the possession but just could not get the ball in the back of the net. Then we broke the duck with a strike from Jacob Mullen the floodgates began to open. Every player worked their socks off and chased and closed down every ball. All the play was in their half with Jacob M , Adam T , Leon and Spencer all working together well to pepper another 6 past their keeper with Jacob M getting his hat trick , Adam T netting 2 and Spencer also scoring 2 with his first one being a screamer into the roof of the net. Jacob H and Charmaine were solid in defence with AJ also looking very comfortable with his clean sheet. Credit though to FC Rangers who worked hard in both matches in very poor conditions. WELL DONE !!

An unusually pleasant day on the normally windy Common edge pitches with the first team starting off well and looking every bit as good as their opponents. We were unlucky with the first goal and then lack of experience meant that we conceded a couple more in quick succession. With Thomas M coming off injured with a thigh strain and us missing Johnny another key player in the first team it was a bridge too far to get back into the game. Then Adam B had to come off with a bleeding nose further weakening the team and we conceded a few more.

The 2nd team started off very similarly to the 1st team however this team was at full strength and soon took command of the game. Charmaine made her first full debut as an outfield player and along with Jacob Hurst formed a solid defence ensuring AJ wasn’t troubled too much. The midfield kept control of the game with Adam T having a great game and Leon and Jacob M stretching their defence. Added to all that Spencer played up front for the first time and did exceptionally well chasing the ball down and worrying their defence and keeper. With all the team firing on all cylinders it was inevitable that we should be leading 1-0 at half time thanks to our first league goal from Leon that the AFC keeper had spilled. 2nd half we totally took control and with the ball going straight in from Leon’s corner (possibly with a slight deflection from an AFC defender ! ) the game was nearly won. Cue Jacob Mullen to finish the game off with a spectacular goal. Well done Jacob !

We started off well and looked every bit as good as YMCA with most of the play being in the middle of the park and neither side getting any easy opportunities , but YMCA got the first run off the ball and an unlucky defensive clearance ended up with us being 1- 0 down at half time.
Our heads went down a little too easily and with Leon coming off injured at half time our side looked unsettled , added with the fact that one or two of us appeared to be lacking our normal enthusiasm , this resulted in us conceding another 2 goals , but I feel that the 3 – 0 final score did not really reflect the game although we did not trouble their keeper they were not 3 goals better than us and if we had played to our potential we could have comfortably beaten them but the final result of a YMCA win in Match 1 was a fair result on the day.
Star Player : Ben Smith for his persistence in the face of adversity.
Match 2
Team : Thomas (keeper) , George , Jacob H , Adam B , Thomas , Johnny , Lee.
Subs : Joe , Ben F , Sam , AJ.
Very similar game to match 1 with the majority of the game being played in the middle of the park but YMCA just seemed to have more of a cutting edge when attacking and we were all too soon chasing the game conceding soft goals with YMCA reacting much quicker to their opportunities than ourselves. In the first half we had few chances with all of our attacking moves from midfield being broken down too easily as we were not getting forward in numbers when it counted. Lee was full of running but had 2 players closing him down every time he had the ball with no options around him due to the lack of movement and enthusiasm and it has to be said lethargy by some of our other players. Again if we had played anything like I have seen us play we would certainly have given YMCA more of a game than we eventually did. New signing keeper Thomas played well and made some great saves but could not stop the avalanche. Final score YMCA 5 Blackpool Rangers 0 .
I am sure it will be a different story when we play them away from home.
Star Player : Lee for his perpetual motion and enthusiasm whilst attacking

Blackpool Rangers v Kirkham 26/7/08
Match 1
Team 1: AJ, Mathew, Edward, Adam T, Jacob M, Leon, Lee
Subs: Ben F, Sam, Thomas
The benefit of a big squad showed today, with 3 players missing on international duty (holidays). Every player put in a magnificent performance all over the pitch. Lee always causes problems with the way he never gives up and is always willing to chase a lost cause. Leon’s play on the left was excellent and continually provided crosses of real quality, on the right Jacob Mullin and Adam T in centre midfield were again in magnificent form, providing a little bit of 8 year old class !!. AJ in goal was cool and calm, protected by Mathew and the very well deserved star player of the day Edward who was sublime with everything he did !! Well done Eddie!
We started well and continued with the momentum throughout the game. From the opening few minutes I felt the game would be tight, we had good possession without having that killer final touch. Lee broke the dead lock late on in the first half, finding himself about 10 yards out, looked up and shot high into the roof of the net. Half time 1-0. In the second half we looked great, the interchanging of passes was outstanding. Jacob took on a couple of players and worked his way out wide, sending in a lovely cross to the far post. We need to work on heading practice though, as players backed off rather than attacking the ball, but it will come, I would be more concerned if we created nothing. A few minutes later after another good interchange of passing the ball bounced in front of goal, Jacob pounced on it and headed the ball over the line. We made changes with Ben F and Sam coming on, both players came close to scoring with the keeper and defence making last ditch clearances. A top all round effort. Superb!!
Final score 2-0
Star player: Edward One word 'OUTSTANDING'
Match 2
Team: Charmaine, George, Jakob, Thomas, Adam B, Ben S, Joe
Subs: William , Jake, Thomas
Thankfully Simon Grayson and Alex Furguson were busy with pre season preparations so they missed this 6 goal thriller down at the Stadio De Gala field, near Bispham. We may have had a few multi million pound bids in for some of our star performers today. Having said that I have told them both we are not a selling club and NO amount of money will persuade us to part with our young talented players.
Competition for places is hotting up this season with Joe stepping in for the absent Johnny and grabbing a star player shirt, not to mention fine performances from al the subs who came on. George and Jacob have formed a great partnership at the back, Adam B and Ben S create loads of chances linking the play up well.
From the first whistle we looked like a team, passing the ball around and moving into space for each other. After quite a bit of sustained pressure we made the first break through. After good work from Adam Bowker, Thomas got the ball and slipped it passed the keeper to make it 1-0, a few minutes later having asked Joe to push forward the keeper failed to clear properly from the goal kick, it fell to Joe who controlled the ball well and shot from 20 yards just inside the post 2-0. Thomas was in goal scoring form notching 2 more to complete his hat-trick. He didn’t stop there though, with about 10 minutes left he passed a couple of players and poked it under the keeper to make it 5 – 0. Charmaine had come on in midfield as well as Jake up front, it was these two who combined to make it 6-0 Charmaine did some great work down the left and fired a firm left foot shot at goal, Jake stuck his leg out and directed it perfectly inside the post, bringing his goal tally to 2 in 2 games, well done!!
It was a fine all round team performance, it is a pleasure to watch, long may it continue.
Final score 6-0.
Star Players: Thomas and Joe (they were that good we had to give 2 star player shirts out)
Fleetwood Gym v Blackpool Rangers
Match 1
Team: Charmaine, George, Jakob H, Thomas, Johnny, Adam B, Lee
Subs: Tyler, Joe, Ben F
The 4 week break hardly showed on this breezy morning on King Georges playing fields in Fleetwood. We started with the familiar line up of Charmaine in goal, George and Jakob H in defence, Johnny, Thomas and Adam B in midfield and Lee up front. From the first whistle we were always in control with some excellent all round team play, its clear to see that the settled formations and positions are starting to pay dividends, each player links up well and are building a great team spirit.
A few minutes into the game Johnny drifted in field, Thomas in possession passed it to Johnny who about 12 yards out with his back to goal turned and lobbed a shot over the keepers head. 0-1. We continued to create a flurry of opportunities with the Fleetwood keeper in inspirational form, mid way through the first half, after some neat footwork and a great through pass from Johnny Thomas burst in to score from close range. Johnny made it 3-0 before the break after good work from Lee and Adam B had put him in the clear.
We changed things a little in the second half with Tyler coming on at left midfield and Ben F and Joe coming on in defence and centre forward. We continued to dominate, Tyler with some good work down the left put Joe in on goal but the defence managed to clear their lines. More and more chances came with Tyler, Joe and Thomas all coming close, but we could not get the ball past the solid Fleetwood back line. It was a great performance, with special mention to the Fleetwood lads who played magnificently especially the keeper, WELL DONE !!!
Star Player: Adam Bowker (battled hard all morning, even with a nose bleed)
Match 2
Team: AJ, Mathew P, Edward, Adam T, Jacob M, Ben S, Leon.
Subs: Jake, Sam, William, Mathew
Fleetwood fielded a similar team to the previous match, they have recently reformed and had a shortage of numbers, it did not dampen their spirits, they battled like troopers for every ball. We lined up with AJ in goal, Mathew and Edward in defence, Adam T, Ben S & Jacob M, in midfield and Leon up front. As shown in the previous game we were looking good and showed no signs of cobwebs that may have crept in during our break. Adam T ran the middle of midfield scoring early on with a superb individual goal, a cool finish from 10 yards out. It was our wing wizards though who caused major problems, Ben S and Jacob M using the ball well to run out wide and whip in some sublime crosses. Leon worked well up front causing the magnificent keeper who had played in the previous game to make several good saves including one which hit the cross bar with real force. 0-1 half time.
In the second half Jacob M picked up the ball in his own half, showed incredible pace & determination and crossed the ball perfectly for Ben S to shoot home to make it 0-2. We then made several changes with Sam, William Jake and Mathew all coming on. Again Jacob picked up the ball skipped passed 3 players and crossed the ball with pin point accuracy to Jake who took the ball on the volley to make it 0-3 great goal Jake!! More and more chances came but we could not break down the stubborn Fleetwood defence a 4th time. Late on Fleetwood took advantage of a lack of concentration at the back and ran through to make it 1-3, but it would not spoil a great all round performance, however proves the point that we must keep concentrating for all 40 minutes as teams will create chances. well played everyone, TOP EFFORT!
Star player: Jake (boy Jake can finish!!)
Blackpool Rangers v Clifton Rangers
Match 1
Team: AJ, Mathew, Edward, Adam T (c), Jacob M, Ben S and Leon
Subs: Tyler, Jake, William
This our final game before our well deserved 4 week break was always going to be a tuff task. From the first whistle it was apparent that the teams were evenly matched with chances falling to both teams. We began to control things and had shots from Adam T, Leon and Jacob all finish just wide. Mathew and Edward looked solid at the back and Ben Smith drafted in from the other team to cover for the absent Spencer was outstanding all morning. However we were caught napping at the back, a long range effort from Clifton was saved by AJ only for the ball to fall back into the awaiting Clifton player who fired the ball low under AJ’s body. AJ suffered a hand injury and had to be replaced by Jakob H. We pushed and pushed for an equaliser but the ball would not land nicely for us, until Leon gained possession left centre of goal he pushed passed one player and hammered the ball passed the keeper to make it 1-1 Half Time !! The second half was very similar with shots from all angles Tyler, Jake and William all came on as we continued to press. Several chances came at both ends but with only seconds to go the ball arrived at the feet of Jacob M with only the keeper to beat, he fired in a great shot but it finished just wide. A good result for both sides but with a little bit of luck we could of walked away with a win. Final score 1-1 Well played everybody!!
Star player: Ben S (back to his best, well done)
Match 2
Team: Charmaine, George, Jakob H, Johnny (c), Thomas, Adam B, Lee
Subs: Joe, Sam, Ben F
The team were well up for this one, they attacked from the word go. Thomas breaking through the middle to smash the ball home 1-0. What a great start, but it got even better Johnny was causing all sorts of problems for the Clifton defence with his fantastic runs, he found Thomas who shot from long range which the keeper could only push away, the rebound fell to Johnny who smashed it in for 2-0, WOW!! One minute later we regained possession through Lee he passed to Johnny who beat several players and coolly went round the keeper to make it 3-0 after about 10 mins. Clifton, like us against Hough end a few weeks earlier had been caught cold and had to start to get their foot on the ball and play a bit. That’s exactly what they did and forced several good saves from the fantastic Charmaine. Half Time 3-0. As Johnny pressed forward once more in a search for his hatrick the mums discussed outfits and make up in readiness for the party we were having that night. Mandy was off to get shoes and Kellie was going to search for a new dress !!
Meanwhile, Joe, Sam and Ben F came on in the second half to replace some very tired legs, all three played like they had a point to prove and chased for every ball. Joe made a great tackle to stop a Clifton attack and then pushed a cutting through ball to Thomas who just missed the target. Late on Clifton again had several chances but it would take something spectacular to beat the inspired Charmaine!! Clifton pushed forward and passed the ball out to their influential number 2 he beat a couple of players and shot high into the top corner (great goal). 3-1 after a late scare we managed to stay solid and walked away convincing 3-1 winners our first win ever against Clifton, SUPERB!!
Star Player: Joe (fantastic performance)
Blackpool Rangers v Fc Rangers 7/6/08
Match 1
Team: Charmaine, Jakob H, George, Thomas(c), Johnny, Ben S, Lee
Subs: Joe, Adam B, Ben F and Sam
The game kicked off & B/pool went on the attack. Thomas & Johnny were strong in midfield and showed their skills with excellent dribbling, intelligent passes & tough tackling. Ben S was lively down the left wing & Lee caused FC nothing but problems. A free kick by Thomas brought a good save from the keeper but with B/pool constantly attacking a goal was certain. Another assault down the right & a good cross into the box found Ben S in space and the 1st goal of the game came with a solid strike into the back of the net. George & Jacob H showed confidence in defence & followed instructions from the coaches keeping FC Rangers too few chances. George’s dribbling out of defence gave the coaches some heart stopping moments but it was an excellent pass from him to Thomas which set up the 2nd goal. Lee was always dangerous with the ball at his feet making the FC defence & keeper work hard until a well hit daisy cutter into the corner of the goal got B/pool their 3rd & Lee his 1st. He got his 2nd when the ball broke to him on the edge of the box after a corner from Johnny wasn’t cleared and that made it 4 - 0. Goal of the half came from Johnny who was already having a good game when he picked up the ball on the halfway line and ran at pace towards the goal. Dribbling past 4 players and only having the keeper to beat Johnny showed composure to take the ball round the goalie & stroke the ball into an empty net. FC did push hard towards the end of the 1st half but Charmaine wasn’t letting any goals in today. More subs were brought on at half time and as the 2nd half got on the way it looked like more goals were in this game for B/pool. A healthy lead gave opportunity for the coaches to rest tied legs & a chance for players to play in different positions with Charmaine showing the boys how to tackle in defence. FC never gave up and kept on pushing having a couple of near misses & a shot cleared of the line. Lee came close to his hatrick a couple of times, Adam B had a couple of mazy dribbles and Charmaine went close after a strong counter attacking run but no more goals came for B/pool this half. As the match drew to a close FC did get a deserved consolation goal to make it 5 – 1 but this game had already been won due to hard work and great team play. WELL DONE EVERYONE.
Star Player – Thomas: High energy performance
Match 2
Team: AJ, William (c), Mathew, Adam T, Jacob M, Spencer, Leon
Subs: Jake, Edward, Tyler
This game was more 50 / 50 than the 1st match with both teams having good chances straight from the kick off. AJ & the FC keeper were called on many times to make telling saves & it looked like no one was going to score. Leon had his shooting boots on but still the keeper either saved it or it went just wide. Jacob M & Spencer worked hard & showed their pace down the wings creating chances & earning corners for Leon to swing in with his left boot. Adam T tackled hard in midfield & with a defence splitting pass set up Jacob M who just fired wide. Matt & William in defence made it hard for FC and with AJ in nets making excellent saves (with the help of the post) it seemed the 1st half would be goalless but just before half time FC scored against the run play. Half time came & subs were brought on by the coaches. The 2nd half started like the 1st with both teams going for it. Jacob M went close with a shot making the keeper save well, then a header just wide from a corner. Leon shoots from long range sending the keeper to his knees, another half chance for Jacob M. More changes by the coaches bring well deserved rests when Adam T shrugs off a couple of tackles and blasts the ball into the roof of the net. 1 – 1. Leon keeps on shooting & hits a post this time while Ed & Tyler are kept busy in defence. Adam T jumps on a loose ball and its 2 – 1 B/pool have the lead. Both teams are working hard & the game still runs from one end to the other with both teams looking to score. AJ gathers a loose ball and sets off another attack which eventually ends up at Adam T’s feet who shifts the ball for a shot. HATRICK. B/pool 3 – FC 1. With little time left FC grab a 2nd despite a diving AJ to make it 3 – 2 but it’s not enough and B/pool win 3 -2 with an impressive 2nd half performance. WELL DONE TO THE TEAM.
Star player: Tyler: Lots of stamina & adapted well to playing out of position
Team 1: AJ, Mathew, Edward(c), Adam T, Jacob M, Spencer, Leon

Match 1
Blackpool Rangers v Hough End Griffins (Manchester)31/5/08
Team 1: AJ, Mathew, Edward(c), Adam T, Jacob M, Spencer, Leon
Subs: Jake, William
The sun was shining, the birds were singing but some how we found ourselves 2-0 down after just a few minutes. It was clear to see we were playing an excellent side who, at times played some of the best football I have seen from a young team at this age level. On too many occasions 3 or 4 of our players were gathered round the ball leaving players unmarked.
Credit to them though they battled back extremely well and started to push forward and create some useful chances. Hough End responded well and broke down the right hand side at speed, after a quick interchange of passes they slotted the ball past AJ to make it 3-0.
Leon, Adam and Jacob all had opportunities to pull us a goal back, the best chance falling to Jacob down the right whose fierce shot was saved well by the keeper. Late on in the half after some more sustained pressure from the visitors they broke through the middle of the defence and smashed the ball into the back of the net.
Half time 4-0.
During the break we talked to the boys about keeping their positions and attacking the ball; sides like this will take full advantage of every opportunity given to them so it was important that we tried to get to the ball first.
They came out with a great attitude, from the opening whistle they chased and battled for every ball. Again we had the chances but could not manage to break down the well organised and stubborn back line of Hough End. William came into defence for Edward and Jake came on for Leon, they both battled well and as requested worked hard in their individual roles. As the game drew to an end Hough End pushed forward down the left, their tricky winger beating a couple of our players and firing low under Aj’s body to make it a final score of 5-0.
Despite the score line the team should take great confidence in the way they continued to battle for the full 40 mins and that the main lesson is to stick to your job and try to keep your positions.
Star player Edward (magnificent)
Match 2
Team: Charmaine, Jakob H (c), George, Thomas, Johnny, Ben S, Lee
Subs: Sam, Joe, and Ben F
Despite losing 5-0 in the first game the team did not look at all fazed, everyone stuck to their position and challenged every single ball. The teams looked very evenly matched and it proved to be an extremely entertaining game. Hough End, as in the first game, passed the ball around very well and are blessed with some very talented players. Thankfully so are we !! Thomas, Johnny and a magnificent performance by Ben Smith hardly put a foot wrong in midfield, whilst George and Jakob were rocks in the heart of the defence. Ben made a tackle in his own half and went on a long run nearly the full length of the pitch only for the keeper to take it from his feet, Charmaine made a great save at the other end and Jakob made a goal line clearance. The game as I said was end to end but mid way through the first half Hough End broke through, one of our players dived into the challenge (something we should not do) and the player just skipped past to score 1-0. We broke away only a few minutes later with some great passing eventually finding Lee (who is in great form) to level it up 1-1. Hough End battled again this time cutting in from the wing to make it 2-1. But our team were in determined mood and counter attacked, after a rasping shot from Lee which the keeper saved brilliantly but could not hold, it fell to Thomas who makes no mistake from 5 yards out to make it 2-2 at HALF TIME. What a half !!!!
We brought all three subs on in the second half who also worked their socks off on what was a very warm day. Despite all the hard work Hough End pressed forward yet again and scored with a great shot past Charmaine 3-2. Surely we could not pull it back again !! Oh yes we could and this time from a young lad with a smashing attitude, who has never scored in a match before. We broke down the right and the ball was crossed in, Ben Fuller poised a few yards out nailed it on the half volley into the roof of the net to make it 3-3. We were under massive pressure near the end with Hough End hitting the post and bar on more than one occasion but we held out for a magnificent 3-3 draw. WELL DONE!!
Star Player Jakob Hurst (outstanding)
Special thanks to the Hough End team and supporters it was a great morning of football. Cheers !!
Match 1
BRFC UNDER 7's v BRFC UNDER 8's
Team: AJ, Edward, Matthew, Spencer(C), Adam T., Jacob M., Leon.
Sub: Jake.
The match began at a fast pace and was fairly even to begin with. The Under 7’s looked dangerous on the break but Matthew and Edward held firm (interesting battle here with Ed marking his brother Jack – and to be honest getting the better of him on most occasions!). Then Jacob tried a long range shot which their keeper couldn’t hold on to. 1-0. Soon after, another hard shot, this time from Leon, made it 2-0. The team were beginning to put some good passing moves together, with Jacob, in particular, working hard in midfield. Even Edward tried his luck with a long range shot, which drifted just wide of the post. Great effort! But the Under 7’s kept battling and put us under some pressure – without ever being able to create a clear chance. Suddenly the action was back down the other end and an unfortunate handball gave us a penalty. Leon made no mistake and blasted it into the roof of the net. 3-0. The scoreline was a little harsh but we’ve been in that situation ourselves more than a few times.
Jake came on for Edward at half time. The Under 7’s started brightly and a smooth passing move nearly caused us problems. A timely intervention from Matthew saved the day! But from then on our team began to take control. Adam and Leon tackling strongly and linking up together well soon resulted in another goal from Leon! 4-0. Spencer (who had an excellent 2cnd half) now got in on the act. A fine run down the left wing, beating several players and shooting from a narrow angle made it 5-0 to us. The goal of the game. By now, AJ didn’t have a lot to do. It would have been nice for our younger age group to have scored a consolation but it was not to be. Another clean sheet for AJ! Keep it up!! Late on, Jake controlled a difficult long ball and shot coolly into the net. Final score 6-0 and another strong performance. Hope we can keep up the good work against Houghend Griffins!!!
Match 2
Team
Charmaine, Jakob H, George, Adam B, Ben S (c), Lee , Johnny.
Subs: Sam, Joe, Ben F.
Good all round team performance against an ever inproving under 7's team, full credit to Charles and the other coaches they looked very organised and were a credit to you.
Lee in only his second game up front was outstanding and battled hard for every ball including several quality headers. We broke forward down the right hand side with a good interchange of passes, Johhny skipped passed a couple of players and delivered a lovely cross to Lee who fired the ball home to make it 0-1. The under 7's never let their heads go down and broke forward on a regular basis, Jakob hurst and George coming to the rescue on more than one occasion.
We made several changes throughout the match which always causes disruption and a lack of balance, however it was a good opportunity to try a few things out and enhance the teams confidence.
In the second half we started well and forced several excellent saves from an inspired under 7's keeper, however late on in the half Lee again chased a lost cause, won the ball, beat a player and finally toe poked it home under the keeper to make it 0-2 FINAL SCORE.
Well done to all the team in what was a very even and entertaining game.
WARTON TYPHOONS V BLACKPOOL RANGERS 17/5/08
Match 1
Team: Charmaine, Jakob H, George, Adam B, Ben S, Lee (c), Johnny.
Subs: Ben F, Sam, Joe.
An experimental side this week, with Jakob H starting in defence with George, and Lee in an unfamiliar centre forward position. We started brightly passing the ball around well and forced a couple of corners in quick sucession. We continued to look strong with Lee in inspirational form, chasing the ball down and causing all sorts of problems for the Warton defence. Half time 0-0. In the second half Joe came on for Ben S down the left we continued to play well but in a goal mouth scramble the ball fell to warton on the right, Charmaine charged out of her net to close the player down, but he managed to slot it passed her and it was tapped in on the line, 1-0. We continued to press and after some great work down the right, we passed it in field to Lee who was one on one with the keeper, he did everything right- smashed at goal but was denied with a great save from the Warton keeper. Sam and Ben came on for George and Adam, and worked well. Late on, Warton broke forward and slotted the ball home from 10 yards out. Final Score- 2-0. A great performance today with the score line not truly reflecting what was a very even game, well done.
Star Player: Lee (never stopped running, great all round game!)
Match 2
Team: AJ (c), Mathew, William, Adam T, Jacob M, Spencer, Leon.
Subs: Edward, Jake
A more settled team in this game with Leon, Jacob, Adam and Spencer linking up very, very, well and the defence solid throughout. We started very quickly with all the boys chasing every ball. There was a real desire to get hold of the ball first and play it about. Jacob M's play down the right was some of the best I have seen all season, sending the Warton defence into chaos at times. Adam ran the midfield and down the left, Spencer looked sharp and ready for action. Mid-way through the first half the Warton keeper kicked the ball out, Leon reacted quickly and won the ball, took a touch and fired it passed the keeper Half time 0-1. In the second half we made no changes initially as all of the boys were magnificent. AJ in nets was cool as ice launching the ball forward with some massive kicks (well done).Edward and Jake then came on for William and Spencer. We continued to chase everything, and got better and better as the game went on. Adam Thornton knocked the ball in from close range- 0-2 and Leon fired in a fierce shot which the keeper saved knocking it to the feet of Jacob who drilled it into the back of the net 0-3. Goal of the game came when Adam T got the ball out on the right wing he fired in a great cross towards the far post, which some how went in at the angle of the top corner (I think he was a bit pleased!!)0-4. Late on we pressed forward once again, this time the ball being crossed to Jake who makes no mistake from 5 yards out, as he shot passed the keeper to make it a FINAL SCORE of 0-5 and an all round outstanding performance.
Star player: Adam Thornton (worked hard & scored 2 great goals!!)

BLACKPOOL RANGERS V STAINING 3/5/08
Match 1
Team : Charmaine, Sam, George(c), Thomas, Ben S, Adam B, Johnny.
Subs : Lee, Jake, William.
Conditions were a little better this week, we had the wind with us in the first half which gave us the early advantage. Boy did they make the most of it. From the kick off, all 7 players were on fire, leaving the Staining boys stunned. Thomas broke through the middle, beating several players and blasted it past the keeper 1-0 with 30 seconds gone, then we broke again- this time down the right and about 5 yards out the ball fell to Adam B, who slotted the ball home 2-0, we were in total control and the boys attacked at will. After a few more minutes of constant pressure, the ball again came to Thomas who fired it under the keeper to make it 3-0 with only 7 mins gone. Johnny in only his second full game for us had shot after shot (including a magnificent overhead kick!!!!!!!!) but each time the keeper would save or it would go just wide, his efforts did not go un-rewarded though as on 10 mins the ball fell to him on the edge of the box and he fired it home to the keepers right to score his first goal for the club. Staining battled hard from here on in and got a goal back with a spectacular 12 yarder into the top corner 4-1. George and Sam at the back together for the first time played magnificent, they kept their positions well and looked soild throughout. HALF TIME 4-1. In the second half we made some changes, Lee, Jake & William came on for Ben, Johnny & Sam. Lee played in an unfamiliar left midfield position and like the good player he is adapted very well. He skinned 4 players and tried to go round a fifth (remember to pass Lee)but got tackled at the last minute. Charmaine made some good saves after sustained Staining pressure but with 5 mins to go we broke again this time, the ball falling to Jake he blasted the ball home to give us an excellent 5-1 victory. Fantastic performance !!!
Star Player : George (This is the best performance I have ever seen from George, he was fab and you made me very proud, well played son!!)
Match 2
Team : AJ, Mathew, Edward, Adam T, Leon, Jacob M (c), Ben F.
Subs : Joe, Spencer, Tyler
From the start of this game you could tell it would be very even, we had good early possesion through Ben F and Adam T. Through the middle they found Jacob M who made no mistake and smashed it passed the Staining keeper 1-0. Staining battled back well and mid way through the first half forced a free kick about 15 yards out, what a shot they had- bouncing away to safety off the crossbar (I reckon AJ had it covered!!). We kept going and played some good football. Leon had moved inside and picked the ball up about 20 yards out it dropped nicely to his favoured left foot, and as we keeep telling them all if you get a chance, shoot!! He unleashed a blaster forcing a great save from the keeper to his left. Adam T linked up well with Jacob M and in the end had several shots on goal. HALF TIME 1-0.
In the second half, Joe, Spencer & Tyler came on for Leon, Ben F & Edward. The game appeared to be tipping in Staining's favour with good early pressure, forcing several saves from AJ. After about 5 or 10 mins we began to wake up a little and started to cause problems. Spencer playing well down the left and Jacob M in top form down the right, providing a constant threat. Special mention to for Mathew and Adam T who kept us looking solid through the middle today. A very good all round performance- well done !!
Star player : Jacob M (one of the best games I have seen Jacob play, he improves with every week- Well done!!)
SOUTH SHORE V BLACKPOOL RANGERS 26/4/08
Match 1
Team : Charmaine, Mathew, Edward, Adam t, Spencer, Jacob M Jonny
Subs: Adam B, AJ, Jake
Windy conditions again this week on a very open pitch. The team started well with a good level of posession. Jonny on his full debut!! cut inside early on and forced a good save to the keepers left. Adam T did some good work in the centre with Spencer and Jacob down the wings. Mid way through the first half we broke through the middle with the ball finding its way to Jonny he blasted a shot towards the top corner with the keeper beaten sadly he hit it so well Jacob could not get out of the way and it hit him on the line.On the stroke of half time South Shore broke from their own half the ball fell to their influential number 9 who slotted home a great finish inside the post. 1-0 Half Time.
Second half again we did well Mathew & Edward were magnificent at the back. A goal mouth scramble occured and Charmaine managed to get two hands on the ball but under pressure it came loose and SS Scored 2-0. We were still well in it Jonny broke down the right and found Jake who came on for Jacob M he shot just wide(so close!!)Adam bowker came on for Spencer and did well and AJ for Edward who again did well. Late on South shore scored a third but as their manager said to me the final score of 3-0 flattered them. Top performance, well done!!
Star Player: Mathew (terrific!!)
Match 2
Team:Jakob, Lee, William, Thomas, Ben S, Leon, Joe.
Subs: Tyler, Ben F, George
Fantastic performance again this week Thomas Miller was outstanding from the off running past several players from inside his own half and shooting to the side of the keeper to give us an early lead. The side continued to play well, however South Shore forced a corner resulting in the baall coming loose to a South Shore player who slotted the ball home from close range. Half time 1-1. In the second half George came on for Wiliam who again had a great game and tyler for Ben Smith. We worked hard with Leon putting some good balls in from the left. Lee made run after run doown the left hand side and linked up well with Leon. At one stage i think Lee beat every player on the pitch running down the left hand side (fantastice effort Lee). Mid way through the second half Leon picked up the ball outside the box and from at least 15 yards curled the ball into the keepers left corner. 2-1. 5 mins later Thomas broke through the middle 1 on 1 with the keeper and blasted the ball inches wide. South Shore pressed forward a South Shore player pulled off the back of the last defender leaving him un marked to slot home 2-2. We tried and tried to break them down but the game finished in a 2-2 draw. Well done guys another fantastic team effort.
Star player: Leon (Keep working hard, well done!!)
IT HAS TO BE SAID THAT BOTH TEAMS WERE FANTASTIC, THEY DID AS THEY WERE ASKED AND PLAYED EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. WELL DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
WYRE JUNIORS V BLACKPOOL RANGERS 19/4/08
Match 1
Team: Charmaine, George, Lee, Spencer, Adam T, Jacob M, Leon
Subs: AJ, Jake & Jonny.
Windy conditions on this last minute fixture change, we started slow out of the blocks and were caught on the break through the middle. Wyre firing low to Charmaines right giving Wyre a very early lead. We battled hard and soon got into our stride we forced two quick corners taken by Adam but Wyre stayed firm and managed to clear. We created chance aftter chance but as in recent weeks could not put the ball away. HALF TIME 1-0.
In the second half we made a change with Jonny coming on for Spencer on the left. But a few minutes in we conceded again, this time a great corner from wyre on the left and an even better header into the top corner 2-0 Wyre. We made a couple more changes Jake coming on for Leon and AJ for George. We began to totally dominate forcing attack after attack but again we just could not score. With 5 minutes to go we broke from midfield with the ball finding its way to Adam his great low shot beating the Wyre keeper to his left. Dispite more endless pressure for the last few minutes a superb defensive team held firm to claim a great morale boosting victory. Well done both teams it was a very entertaining game.
Final Score Wyre 2 Blackpool Rangers 1
Star Player Jake, well done!!
Match 2
Team: Jakob, William, Mathew, Adam B, Thomas, Ben S, & Joe.
Subs: Edward, Sam, Ben F.
Within seconds of the start we broke forward with a good interchange of passes, the ball finding its way to Thomas who had a great shot which finished just wide. As with the first game we continued to dominate attacking at will. It must be said though that the defence was outstanding with William, Mathew and Edward later on all magnificent. Late on in the first half after another wave of attacking play and some great passing the ball fell to william deep inside the box, calm as you like he dragged the ball back and slipped a pass through to Thomas who drilled it into the back of the net. 1-0 Half Time Rangers.
In the second half we continued the good work Edward came on for Mathew, Ben F came on for Ben s and Sam came on for Adam B. All playing excellent stuff. Joe switched to an unfamiliar left midfield and relished the role skinning several players and getting a shot in which bounced off the post and Ben F just put wide. Mid way through the second half The ball fell to Joe on the edge of the box and on the half volley fired it into the top corner, great goal !! 2-0.
Final score 2-0 fantastic display today from both teams,
REMEMBER THOUGH GET YOUR SHOOTING BOOTS ON NEXT WEEK AND BE FIRST TO THE BALL WHEN EVER YOU CAN !!
Star player: William, Fantastic performance!!
